YSL Touche Eclat Concealer is perfect for illuminating your face.
Did you know, the OG Touche Eclat Brightening Pen takes 200 clicks to empty? Or that every minute, six pens sell somewhere in the world? The iconic Touch Eclat formula is that good. And, now it’s infused with a concealer to provide brightening and coverage, made to erase dark circles and hide signs of tired eyes. The reviews are mixed: some users love the formula, while others find the coverage minimal. Naturally, I put this concealer to the test and found my favorite way to use it is to layer it on top of something more matte.
Promises vs. Performance: YSL Touche Eclat will erase dark circles and signs of fatigue.
Touche Eclat features a patented secret YSL optical brightening technology, designed to tackle women’s #1 concern: dark circles. Whether hereditary or from fatigue, this YSL concealer reflects light away from the eyes to diffuse and correct dark shadows. The formula features ingredients such as ruscus and caffeine to combat under eye puffiness and swelling, while hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and calendula protects and soothes. Touch Eclat promises to brighten and make you look wide awake with a flawless coverage that never looks fake, doesn’t cake, and doesn’t look heavy.
I love how lightweight this concealer is. It’s perfect for adding on top of a more matte concealer to give a bit of brightness under the eyes. I’ve paired this concealer on top of the YSL All Hours Concealer and it’s lightweight enough to layer, but provides a nice radiance to counteract the matte formula of All Hours. I wouldn’t say this is the best concealer for those full glam looks, but I do enjoy it on those more natural makeup days. But, the formula does blend out easily with fingertips or a brush. I also enjoy using Touche Eclat to highlight areas of my face when wearing a more matte foundation.
Quick Rating Rundown
How It Compares: It did a great job with brightening, but the coverage isn’t as much as I prefer.
If you’re looking for the fullest coverage concealer, you won’t find that with YSL Touche Eclat. What you will find is an illuminating, lightweight concealer. It brightens the under eye areas and can be used to highlight the high points of the face while adding radiance to a matte base. I find these are the ways I most often use this concealer, rather than just as a concealer by itself. A pairing I quite enjoy is Touche Eclat over top of YSL All Hours.
When I’m looking for coverage, I reach for a concealer like Dior Forever Skin Correct. This one has a potent, highly pigmented formula that takes the smallest amount of product to cover even the most stubborn of imperfections. It is a radiant formula that helps brighten while also concealing and color correcting. Though, I will warn you that it can look heavy and the colors can oxidize.

Milabu Beauty Method: This concealer is a great companion to YSL All Hours.
- After applying your base, grab your favorite matte concealer. Dab this under the eyes and on any imperfections you wish to cover. Blend out.
- Add a few swipes of YSL Touche Eclat under the eyes and on any places you wish to brighten. For me, this is down the center of my forehead, along the bridge of my nose, and the tops of my cheek bones.
- I like to blend this formula out using a sponge or my fingertips.
- To ensure it stays put all day, set with a lightweight powder. Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder ($46) is one of my favorites.
