The Westman Atelier Contour Stick makes sculpting easy.
Contouring has been around for decades with professional makeup artists, but it’s recently gained popularity with daily makeup wearers thanks to social media. But, what is contouring, and what’s the difference between contouring and bronzing? In short, contour sculpts while bronzer warms up the complexion. One contour stick that has gone viral among the makeup social media world is the Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick. Is it any good? Does it work? Well, it’s one of my favorites (despite its hefty price).

Promises vs. Performance: Is it a makeup kit essential?
Westman Atelier’s founder, Gucci, dubs Face Trace Contour Stick a “true makeup kit essential.” The cleanly formulated cream contour stick subtly sculpts and defines the face. It promises not to disrupt any makeup underneath, and is easy to blend and build to your desired intensity. The formula also contains good-for-skin ingredients: berryflux vita extract to boost hydration and fortify youth- preserving properties, organic jojoba oil for antioxidant protection and hydration, and vitamin E to hydrate and protect against environmental damage.
True to its claims, Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick is the perfect sidekick for subtly sculpting and defining. To apply, swipe the stick in the places you want to add definition. Usually, this includes under the cheekbones, sides of the nose, and the jawline. Take your favorite brush (Makeup By Mario F1 is my fave!) and blend in upward strokes to help lift the face. If you desire a deeper contour, simply repeat the process until you’ve achieved your desired intensity!
Westman Atelier Contour Stick has a great wear, lasting all day with minimal fading or settling. It doesn’t exaggerate texture, pores, bumps, or lines either. And, it can be layered with both cream and powder bronzer for both a sculpted and warm complexion.
How It Compares: Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick is the luxury standard.
When looking at Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick, its performance is unmatched. It applies easily, looks beautiful on, and wears well. But, it’s quite pricey. Full size, you only get 0.21oz of product for $48 (mini is 0.09oz for $25). Personally, I’m willing to overlook that for how beautiful of a contour it is.
Looking for a cream bronzer instead? I love my cream bronzers and can’t get enough of them. I have added so many to my collection over the past year as brands continue to launch their own cream bronzer. And I truly believe cream bronzer is foolproof and easier to use than powder. The Milabu Team has put together a list of bronzers we love, including our favorite clean cream bronzer from Saie Beauty and our favorite makeup steal, e.l.f. Putty Bronzer.
