Voloom Reviews are Almost 5 Start

Let me tell you about this amazing tool called the VOLOOM Hair Volumizing Iron. It was created for one purpose only – to volumize hair. I believe it was the first of the kind to the market. Ever since it came out it got accolades from users all over – just read the Voloom reviews. When talking about a hair tools, I don’t believe there is anything on the market that volumizes hair as effectively. However there are ways to volumize your hair without heated tools like this one. Let’s dive in and chat about about what it can and can not do.

Promises vs. Performance: Voloom Hair Iron

What is it?

This hair tool is like no other styling tool out in the market today because its sole purpose is to give your hair big volume. Here is how it works: after styling your hair however you want, grab the VOLOOM and use it on dry hair as a finishing step. You will have to focus on those under-layers near the scalp, and voila! The result is instant volume boost that’ll make your hair look full, healthy, and unbelievably sexy. It’s a secret weapon for amazing hair days.

Voloom tool comes in three different sizes:

Voloom Classic: It is a 1 1/2″ tool made that creates BIG VOLUME. Also it is recommended for longer hair. Since Longer hair has more weight it will need more texture to hold it.

Voloom Petite: This is a 1” Professional Volumizing Ceramic Hair Iron. It is made for medium length hair. It is also recommended for fine textured hair. You should be able to hide the extra texture of this 1″ hair iron.

Voloom Rootie: Here we have a 3/4″ Volumizing Hair Iron. They did not leave the short hair girls with out an option, this is a hair iron for them. Moreover, this is becoming the most popular iron out of the three Voloom tools. You can do detail work and add extra hair volume in areas needed.

What is the advantage of Voloom Hair Tool?

The texture…

Voloom builds special structure that is strong enough to hold the weight of the hair. Furthermore, the hair tool does this without creating a distinct pattern in the hair. It tries to camouflage the texture.

Speed…

This would have to be the quickest way to get long lasting volume to your hair. Most other methods take time and are kinda tedious, including hair blowouts.

Longevity…

The volume you achieve with VOLOOM is different from the volume you get from sprays and gels. Here’s why: the volume you create with VOLOOM is “heat-locked” into your hair. This means it will stay put and won’t be weighed down or flattened like it can be with sprays and gels.

The best part? This long-lasting volume will stay with you for days, even until your hair gets wet. So, you don’t have to worry about your amazing volume disappearing after a few hours. With VOLOOM, you can rock that voluminous look confidently, knowing it will stick around and keep you turning heads.

Safety…

The cool thing about VOLOOM is that it’s designed to give you fantastic results while keeping hair damage to a minimum. Here’s the claim: you only use it near the scalp and a few inches down the hair shaft. Why? Because that’s where your hair has natural oils that protect it from heat damage. Unlike other hot tools, you don’t use VOLOOM on the ends of your hair because they’re the most vulnerable to damage.

But wait, there’s more interesting claims! VOLOOM has ceramic coated plates and ionic technology that seal the cuticle and shield your hair from harm. So, it’s like having built-in protection. More on this later.

This is where marketing gets creative with the claims. I paraphrase, many of us wash and style our hair too often because it tends to go flat without constant attention. But with VOLOOM, get ready for a game-changer. You’ll notice that your hair maintains volume for days, which means you can actually go longer without washing it…

Concerns…

Let’s just get the most important facts on the table. Voloom does work and deserves great reviews, but it’s a hot hair iron. If your hair is damaged this is not a good solution. Even if your hair is healthy, this tool should still be used with caution. Furthermore, the camouflaged texture only can works so far.

My Thoughts/Review on Voloom Hair Irons (Classic, Petite Rootie):

Pros:

I love the strong heat locked texture that is somewhat camouflaged. With ceramic plates and a patented checkerboard design, VOLOOM creates randomized hidden volume pockets that lift the top layers of your hair, resulting in a fuller, more Voloominous look! I love how easy it is to use the tool. Longevity is not in question, it will last just as long as any hot tool style will. I can only give Voloom great reviews because they have created a tool that a market needed. But, there are a few things that need to be considered before buying this tool.

It comes in three different sizes: Voloom Classic, Petite, Rootie. You can get relatively close to the roots of the hair with all three of the hair tools.

Cons:

This is not the only way to get hair volume, and this is not the healthiest way to get volume. Obviously a tool like Dyson Airwrap will provide volume in a safer manner. See the post on Dyson Airwrap to see how to use it. Further, the random texture is great unless you have slick hair, then you will have hard time hiding the textured hair under the top layer. Along the same line, creating texture just anywhere can make you head shape look awkward. You will have to figure out the right locations for texture to create perfect hair shape and volume. It worth noting that the prevalent shape that most users will end up with is a flat surface on top of their head. Just like for any other tool, there are some limitation to this tool.

If you do not know which one of these tools to try, I personally would recommend to start with the smaller one, Voloom Rootie 3/4″ Hair Iron. It’s the most versatile tool out of the three. It is easier to use Rootie to form the shape of the head than with the bigger versions (Voloom Classic, Petite).

Valoom’s Choice of Material

Valoom is made from ceramic. IMO this is probably one of the more efficient materials to use because you are not gliding the tool though the hair, where the heat has a second to set the style. In this situation you can control how many seconds you leave the hair in the tool, giving it enough time to set the hair. There is no real need for more advanced material technology like titanium.

How To Use Voloom Classic, Petite, and Rootie.

Here’s a step-by-step process to get beautiful hair volume.

  1. Style your hair as you would.
  2. Turn the tool on and let it heat up to proper temperature
  3. Set aside the top layer of the finished style:
  4. Take the layer underneath the top layer near the scalp, clamp down the 1″ section of hair in between the waffle teeth of the hair tool (Voloom Classic, Petiete, or Rootie)
  5. Hold the tool for 1 to 2 second and release.
  6. Do the same thing to other sections until finished.

The tricky part about this Voloom hair volumizing tool is knowing how many sections of hair you should texture and the locations of the texture. The trick is to make the hair volume look natural. Unfortunately it is different for every hair type. You will have to play with it a bit to figure out the formula for your hair.

How It Compares To Other Volumizing Tools

There are various ways to achieve hair volume. They all use different methods to get the results. To start with, there is a teasing comb, then hair blowout stylers, then changing your parting line, and of course hair dryers, hot rollers… Let’s get into the differences between these various hair volumizing tools and methods.

How Does Voloom Compare To Other Hair Volumizers?

Teasing Combs

I believe everyone has heard of a teasing comb. If you want to achieve crazy volume and whatever shape you would prefer, this is the tool to get the job done. Usually you will have to use some hair spray to lock the shape in and have some longevity. However, this can be damaging to the hair for a few reasons: you are putting it under tension while teasing; you are putting it under more tension when coming it out as well. Too much tension on the hair is damaging resulting with hair breakage.

Comparing a Voloom hair iron to a teasing comb, obviously Voloom can be faster and does not need any extra hair products. IMO this is the major reason why Voloom reviews are so high. However, both can be damaging on the hair.

Air Stylers and Curlers (i.e. using only air)

It’s no secret that consumers are most likely aware of the numerous philosophies and technologies when it comes to volumizing hair. The oldest method is probably teasing the hair and the newest is getting hair blowouts using safe air driven stylers. With the latter, Dyson is taking the lead who pioneered this innovative approach.

If you’re concerned about heat damage and want to give your hair some extra TLC, air stylers are definitely the way to go. The market is now flooded with a choice of tools from various brands, including the likes of Shark, Revlon, and even Dyson Airwrap Dupes.

As stated above some of these stylers are very safe on the hair. However, they do take some time and will not provide major hair volume like Voloom stylers would.

Hot Rollers

You probably seen the older generation use hot rollers to achieve some great voluminous results. However, this process takes a very long time compared to other hair volumizing tools. Voloom takes a few minutes, while hot rollers can take aup to a few hours to achieve great hair volume. This is probably the major reason why Voloom gets great reviews, the speed!

Changing your hair parting line

Here is a simple trick that I hope your mom or a friend has passed on to you. Changing your hair parting line can be an easiest way to achieve that natural hair volume. There is nothing to this process, if you love to have your parting line on the left, change it to the right and comb your hair in the opposite direction. If you love to have your hair parting line in the center, do it off center. You can do this daily. You can also add a hair dryer into this process to get even bigger results.

This is a simplest way to get volume, but it does have limitations for people with heavier thicker hair. Voloom hair iron like the Classic, Rootie, and Petite provide that extra strength that heavier hair would need to keep the hair from falling flat.

Hair Dryer

To get big hair volume results using a hair dryer, dry your hair opposite of the way your hair will lay. To help you even more, change the hair parting line every so many days.

This is very simple way that looks very natural and is usually part of the hair drying process which does not reacquire any additional time from the user. If you need bigger results, you will have to use one of methods above: Voloom hair iron, teasing comb, hot rollers…
