- Lifts lashes

- Minimal smudging and transfer
I loved everything about Velour’s lash growth mascara, Pretty Big Deal until the wear. It gave me long, wispy lashes that looked full and curled. But, the formula flaked a good bit, me with black specks I kept having to wipe away.

Pretty Big Deal Lash Growth Velour Mascara boots lashes with wispy length.
You might find yourself wandering, what’s so special about a tubing mascara? Tubing mascaras are different than your typical mascara and feature a smudge proof, long wearing formula that is water resistant (if you’re a cryer, this might be your jam). Tubing mascaras feature tiny polymers that encase, or form tubes around, lashes, creating length and locking in pigment. They’re a favorite of many for their flake free, smudge proof, transfer proof formulas.
Velour Pretty Big Deal is a tubing mascara that is a lash serum, lash shield, and mascara all in one. A small disclaimer: I only tested this formula as a mascara and not as a lash serum, so I can’t speak to those benefits. If you’ve seen results, let me know!
Promises vs. Performance: This Velour mascara has a drier formula that makes me worry about flaking.
Pretty Big Deal Mascara from Velour is a 3-in-1 formula that works as a lash serum, lash shield, and mascara. It features a blend of peptides and ingredients that maximize lash length. Ingredients such as ashwagandha, castor oil, biotin, and shea butter help you achieve noticeably fuller, stronger, and longer looking lashes in just four weeks of continuous wear. The tubing formula shields lashes from environmental damage by encasing lashes with a protective layer. As a mascara, this one promises length and lift.
Wispy, delicate lashes are always my goal and that’s what Pretty Big Deal Mascara gave me. It applied pretty easily and the curved brush helped lift lashes and ensure each lash was coated with product. Velour designed it to hug the lashes and that’s exactly what it does. My lashes were lengthened, lifted, and even volumized (a claim Velour didn’t make). Though, unlike most tubing mascaras, this one flakes. I think this is largely in part to it being a drier formula and most tubing mascaras are on the wetter side. But, I had a smudge and transfer free wear that kept my lashes long, volumized, and curled all day long.

How Velour Mascara Compares: I’d prefer my mascaras not to flake, please!
I like most everything about this mascara from Velour – except for the flaky formula that left tiny black specks all over my face. But, it gave me wispy lashes that were volumized, lifted, and lengthened. I loved how the curved brush made it easy to apply, helping curl lashes and grab every lash as I combed through. Because it is a tubing formula, it was smudge and transfer free for an all day wear.
If you’re like me and prefer your mascaras not to flake, I’d suggest checking out Lancome Lash Idole. Lash Idole quickly became my holy grail mascara thanks to its glorious formula. It lengthens, volumizes, and lifts my lashes while providing an all day wear that is transfer, smudge, and flake free. Truly, I compare every mascara to this one because it’s that good.
