UOMA by Sharon C Flawless IRL Skin Perfecting Foundation Review

Initially, I really enjoyed this UOMA foundation. It had an easy application with solid coverage and a natural finish. But, it didn’t wear the best throughout the day.

Flawless IRL Skin Perfecting UOMA Foundation comes in six unique formulations.

Have you ever seen a drugstore foundation that comes in six different formulations dependent on skin tone? No? Me either. Well, this UOMA foundation does. For my shade ranges, the formulas include things like watermelon rind extract, apple starch, and lentil fruit (White Pearl), and cold pressed green coffee extract (Fair Lady). Others include vitamin C (Brown Sugar), daisy flower extract (Bronze Venus), great mullein extract (Back Pearl), and dandelion extract (Honey Honey). Each of these ingredients are included in their formulas to help target typical skin concerns within that shade range. Pretty cool, right?

As cool as this foundation is, I obviously want it to perform. I will say, I loved this foundation initially, but the wear didn’t impress me. Let’s review UOMA by Sharon C Flawless IRL Skin Perfecting Foundation.

FYI, UOMA by Sharon C is the drugstore version of UOMA Beauty.

Promises vs. Performance: Application? Check. Lightweight? Check. Long lasting? Not so much.

UOMA by Sharon C says this is a “foundation, serum, moisturizer, [and] beauty balm” all in one. It’s available in 30 shades with six unique formulas to meet the needs of each skin tone’s concerns. Flawless IRL Skin Perfecting Foundation features lightweight, buildable sheer to full coverage that is long lasting. With its velvety finish, it creates a soft focus, blurred effect to diminish pores and fine lines. The finish is soft focus and blurred, yet luminous and natural. UOMA is saying it should look like your skin with a “radiant lit-from-within glow!”

My Review Thoughts: UOMA by Sharon C Flawless IRL Skin Perfecting Foundation

The application of Flawless IRL wowed me! A little bit went a long way with this thicker, yet still serum-like foundation. It blended out super easily with a brush or a damp sponge. I easily got a medium coverage without much effort or building. It was giving me a natural matte finish that still gave me that “lit-from-within-glow” UOMA promised. Immediately, I loved the finish and how lightweight this foundation felt on the skin. And, all of the products I wore overtop blended out flawlessly without disrupting the layer of foundation.

But, I wasn’t impressed with how this UOMA foundation wore. It was not transfer resistant and wore off throughout the day. I didn’t find it to be long lasting as claimed, and, by the end of the day, I felt and looked like an oily mess. It looked as though I could see my reflection in my forehead! I’m also not sure if it was this specific foundation, or the primer or skincare I used prior, but I did have some sort of reaction on my cheeks at the end of the day. I would recommend maybe patch testing or checking out the individual ingredients to make sure it doesn’t contain something you’re sensitive to.

How It Compares: I thought I was going to enjoy this UOMA foundation more than I did.

When I was applying this foundation, I loved how easy it was to blend out and get a solid medium coverage. It blended out flawlessly with a brush or sponge, and I didn’t prefer one method over the other. The feel of Flawless IRL was lightweight on the skin and I got a really pretty natural matte finish that still gave me a radiant glow. As promised, my pores and lines looked blurred and I had a smooth, even complexion. But, this product fell short in terms of wear for me. It is not transfer resistant or long wearing. It was wearing off especially along my jawline and chin. And, my forehead was an oily mess by the end of the day. It didn’t help control any oiliness whatsoever.

A foundation I can always recommend from the drugstore is L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24-Hour. This is one of my go-to’s at the drugstore as it just never lets me down. It provides a solid coverage with a natural finish. And, it wears really well all day. I have worn this foundation for 12+ hour days several times and am always impressed with the performance. For essentially the same price (Infallible is $15.99 Flawless IRL is $15), L’Oreal Infallible outperforms in so many ways.

Milabu Beauty Method: Whatever your preferred application method is, it works with this UOMA foundation.

Whether you prefer a brush or sponge, you’re in luck! Both methods apply Flawless IRL beautifully.

  1. Prep skin. I would recommend something more on the matte side, especially if your skin leans oily. The Shine Control Matte Primer + Serum from Neutrogena ($17.99) works really well.
  2. Start with 1-2 pumps on the back of your hand.
  3. Swipe dots of foundation across your face.
  4. Taking your brush or sponge, begin blending out the foundation. Layer more pigment if fuller coverage is desired. This foundation can be built from a light to full coverage.
  5. I recommend setting with a loose powder. Coty Airspun ($7.99) is an iconic drugstore powder that works well with just about any foundation.
