Tymo Airflow Styler is a New Addition to Cool Air Stylers Lineup

Tymo airflow styler reminds me of another tool that has being out on the market for years. Oh yes, you might of guessed it, tymo airflow styler looks like a copy of L’ange Le Duo 360 styler. It seems to have copied everything from shape, to color, to controls and all of it at a lower price point. Not, so fast, there are many important differences to consider before making a decision to buy this tool. And even more importunely, there are other Le Duo dupes on the market that are worth considering. Let’s dive into Tymo Airflow Styler Review.

Promises vs. Performance: Tymo Airflow Styler

What is it?

TYMO Airflow Styler Hair Straightener and Curler

Tymo Aiflow Styler hair styler is designed to be lightweight and ergonomic, equipped with a user-friendly clip and adorned with small air vents that provide instant cooling and help lock in your curls. With this versatile tool, you can effortlessly create and maintain various captivating hairstyles that will last for an extended period. Tymo Styler is suitable for all hair types and lengths, particularly ideal for individuals with shoulder-length hair or shorter due to its compact size.

What is the advantage for this cool air styler?

Cooling vents…

The cooling vents integrated into the Tymo Airflow Styler play a crucial role in extending the lifespan of hair curls. These tiny air vents are strategically placed on the styler to facilitate rapid cooling of the hair strands as they are being styled. After the hot plates are ran over the hair, the cooling vents allow fresh air to circulate and effectively cool down the curls. This cooling process helps to set the shape of the curls and lock them in place, promoting longer-lasting results.

Safety…

Furthermore, by reducing the amount of residual heat on the hair, the cooling vents help to minimize the risk of heat damage. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who desire curls that stay bouncy, defined, and frizz-free throughout the day by locking in the moisture in the hair quickly.

Dual function using a clip…

Another benefit is the flat plates that can be used to straighten hair. Essentially it is a hair straightener with cooling feature incorporated into the styler. There is one big caveats worth noting, the clip clamps the hair instead of having the user clamp the hair, which is typical for flat irons. This feature can make the hair styling process much easier.

Concern…

We do have to make a few remarks about the heating materials used in this styler. Tymo Airflow styler incorporated ceramic plates to transfer the heat to the hair. Ceramic transfers heat at a slower rate in contrast to titanium alloy, 24k gold alloy, copper alloy… When using Tymo tool, the hair is in contact with the heated plates for approximately a second. The hair tools needs glide from roots to ends of the hair to style it. Considering there two elements, one has to consider if the right materials were used in this tool. Typically, a good flat iron will incorporate titanium plates because it will transfer heat fast enough to style it.

My Review Thoughts on Tymo Airflow Styler:

Pros:

Let’s dive into the review of the TYMO Airflow Styler and discuss its features. Firstly, it’s important to note that this tool bears a striking resemblance to the L’ange Le Duo; it’s practically an identical twin not just a dupe. Now, one of the standout aspects of this styler is its affordable price tag, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious individuals. Additionally, the TYMO Airflow Styler offers five heat settings, allowing you to customize the temperature to suit your hair type and desired style. As someone who appreciates control, this feature definitely stands out.

Cons:

However, during the review there were a few Tymo Airflow Styler drawbacks. Unfortunately, the airflow produced by this styler is somewhat lackluster, and the plates aren’t the smoothest, which can result in some friction or tugging during use. This can be disappointing when you’re aiming for a sleek and shiny finish. Moreover, the clip on the styler is slightly stiff, making it challenging to glide the tool smoothly through your hair. It’s important to keep in mind that achieving consistent results with the TYMO Airflow Styler may require some experimentation to find the best technique for your hair. Lastly, the swivel cord has a tendency to become sticky, which can be bothersome when you’re trying to maneuver the tool effortlessly.

Furthermore, as mentioned above, the choice of material can be improved. Per our tests and comparisons, the gliding tools that use titanium plates tend to provide more shine and less frizz in the hair. Out of all the competitors this tool took last place when it came to the results. The only silver lining here is, we are glad that they used ceramic plates since the hair styler constantly got stuck on the hair – material that would preventing even more heat damage.

While the TYMO Airflow Styler has its pros and cons, it ultimately provides an affordable option with customizable heat settings. However, it’s essential to be aware of its potential limitations, such as airflow, plate smoothness, clip stiffness, cord stickiness and stiff competition. More on that below.

A Review On How To Use Tymo Airflow Styler

This Tool can be used like any typical Curling Iron. You can Curl your hair or you can straighten your hair.

To curl you hair…

If you’re looking to curl your hair, here’s what you need to do. Grab the tool and give the clip a gentle squeeze to open up the plates. Now, take a 1″ section of hair, starting near the roots, and place it towards the bottom of the plates. Oh, and if you’ve got shoulder-length hair or longer, you might want to begin curling from the mid-shaft for that extra bounce. Now comes the exciting part—twist the tool in the direction you like while gliding it down your hair. The more you twist, the more defined those curls will be. You can twist full 360 degrees for max curl. Repeat these steps for each section of your hair until you’ve achieved your desired style. Voila! You’ve got yourself a stunning, curly hairdo ready to rock!

To straighten your hair…
  1. Start with clean, dry hair.
  2. You may apply heat protectant spray or serum to your hair, especially if you are using very extreme heat (350F or up) This will create an extra barrier between your hair and the heat of the flat iron, reducing the heat spots that cause hair damage.
  3. Divide your hair into sections. Use clips or hair ties to separate your hair into manageable sections, starting from the bottom and working your way up.
  4. Set your flat iron to the appropriate heat setting for your hair type. Lower temperatures are suitable for fine or damaged hair, while higher temperatures are required for thick or coarse hair.
  5. Take a small section of hair, about 1-2 inches wide, and let the styler clamp the hair near the roots. Glide the flat iron down towards the ends in a smooth, slow motion.
  6. Repeat this process for each section of hair, working your way through the layers until all of your hair is straightened.

Let’s Review How Tymo Airflow Styler Compares To Other Cool Air Stylers

There are a number of cool air stylers on the market. The first cool air styler that was heavily advertised is L’ange Le Duo. As a result, numerous brands have jumped on the bandwagon to create their own versions or similar concept tools. Notably, Conair and TYMO have entered the scene with their own cool air hair stylers, making it essential to put these options to the test due to their increasing popularity.

Each of these three stylers—L’ange, Conair, and TYMO—belongs to the category of cool air hair stylers that utilize heat to curl the hair and then use cool air to set the curls in place. Moreover, all three of these hair stylers offer the ability to both curl and straighten the hair. Let’s Review How Tymo Airflow Styler Compare To Other Hair Curlers?

Air Stylers and Curlers

Consumers are obviously aware that there are many different philosophies and technologies for curling hair. The latest technology uses only air to style the hair. Yes, Dyson took the lead and many are now following. This technology is made to reduce the amount of heat the hair is exposed to, among many other outstanding features.

If you worry about heat damage, air styler(s) is the way to go. There are so many tools on the market made by brands like Shark, Revlon down to all the Dyson Airwrap Dupes.

Curling Irons and Flat Iron Technology

The legacy tools come in a form of heated barrels and flat plates. One big variable in these tools is the materials used to create the barrel. These materials are used to lock in moisture, shine control, and quickly set the hair style. Where these tools out perform all other tools is the speed. Nothing will produce the results as fast as heat based curling barrel.

This is where Tymo Airflow stylers and the like are trying to makeup advantages. Unfortunately, based on our experience, these tools need to go much further. There are many regular curling irons and flat irons that outperform al of these tools at a cheaper price point. There it definitely potential to this technology, but its not there yet.

Comparing to Curling Irons…

IMO a regular consumer does not have to look too far to get a good hot curling iron. There is no big need for special plating, like titanium or copper or gold which require additional technology to properly use it. A regular turmaline ceramic curling iron will go a long way. It is safer by nature because it will distribute the heat more evenly because it transfers heat more slowly as you hold the curling iron from 5 to 15 seconds on the hair.

Comparing to Flat Irons…

Where one should consider having better materials is the flat irons. When styling the user has about one second to transfer enough heat into the hair to form she new shape. This is where titanium plated tools are very popular. I do want to mention that some brands do use 24k Gold plated or copper alloy tools as well and they work very well.

It is worth to mention one advantage for novice users. All of these tymo and the like hair stylers make it easier to curl the hair. Since the clip claps the hair one does not have to think about that part of the process. It can be confusing trying to curl the hair using a flat iron – this feature does make it a lot easier to understand.

Check out some of the great options to consider before spending extra money on these cool air stylers.
