Trinny London BFF De-Stress Review: A Tinted Moisturizer To Energize Complexion

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been effected by stress in your life? How about if you’ve ever seen the effects of stress on your skin? I’m talking about dullness, dryness, breakouts – I know I’ve experienced it all. Trinny London has a unique concept tinted moisturizer that is supposed to, quite literally, de-stress your skin. During the day, De-Stress Tinted Serum provides you with fresh coverage that doesn’t add stress to your skin. Then, at night, your skin is able to actually regenerate and soak in the effects of your skincare. I’m not gonna lie, this sounds amazing. The concept is really cool, but will it actually work? let’s jump into Trinny London BFF De Stress Review.

Promises vs. Performance: Trinny London created this tinted serum as a skincare-makeup hybrid that has regenerates skin.

If I had to describe this product, I’d describe it as a chill pill for your face. BFF De-Stress was formulated to, quite literally, de-stress your face. It contains an exclusive to Trinny London technology called NP-TriOX which contains over five times the average active concentration of Neurophroline (a stress-busting ingredient) to help your skin manage stress better during the day while regenerating efficiently overnight. The tinted serum also contains hyaluronic acid to help boost hydration and plump skin, a well as a triple broad-spectrum antioxdiant complex to boost skin, neutralize cortisol, and stimulate collagen production. You’re not supposed to see the product sitting on your skin, instead you should just see an evened out skin tonoe. BFF De-Stress comes in 12 shades.

Review Thoughts: Trinny London BFF De Stress Tinted Serum

Trinny London’s brand is made to apply with just the hands. So, that’s how I applied BFF De-Stress. It applied very easily to the skin. It didn’t feel greasy, sticky, or slimy on the skin. While this tinted product looked really pretty on my skin, I wasn’t able to achieve a medium coverage as promised. I could still see my redness and other imperfections showing through. That being said, my skin still looked super nice. It looked healthy and fresh. And, it felt really comfortable and lightweight on.

I will say, my skin still looked nice and fresh at the end of the day. I didn’t look tired, or stressed, as Trinny London would say. BFF De-Stress provided me with a radiant glow all day. But, I don’t think the wear is anything spectacular. It wore off pretty uneven and I had a decent bit of red patches showing through.

How It Compares: I am excited to keep playing with this Trinny London base product.

Trinny London BFF De-Stress is really similar to BareMinerals Complexion Rescue. Both products offer a lightweight, light to medium coverage that give a radiant glow. The wear of both products is similar as well, with neither being super long wearing. The benefits to the Trinny London tinted moisturizer is that it has a lot of unique, active skincare components. As for the BareMinerals tinted moisturizer, it is cheaper and contains SPF.

For the price, I think you’re better off with Complexion Rescue from BareMinerals. It is only $33 for a tube compared to $50 for BFF De-Stress. And, you get the extra benefit of added SPF.

Milabu Beauty Method: This is the perfect work from home complexion product.

While Trinny London recommends applying all of her products with the fingers, I’d recommend applying BFF De-Stress with a brush. I personally don’t like getting product all over my hands, transferring oils, and getting my products dirty is a pet peeve of mine!

1. Prep skin with a primer. I would recommend using a gripping primer like Benefit Porefessional ($32).
2. Start with 1-2 pumps on the back of your hand.
3. Dot the product across you face.
4. Taking a dense brush, blend BFF De-Stress into your skin. Rare Beauty has some of my favorite brushes, including this foundation brush ($28).
5. If more coverage is desired, repeat steps 3-4.
6. to extend the longevity of this tinted moisturizer, set with a powder. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder ($39) is always a great option.
