Our Rating Criteria

No sacrificing performance with this classic Lancome foundation.

A lightweight foundation that provides full coverage, is humidity and transfer resistant, and has a long wear sounds like a fever dream. But, I’m here to tell you it does exist. Lancome knew what they were doing when they formulated Teint Idole Foundation. For the past 20 years, Teint Idole is still flying off the shelves and is one of the best-selling foundations. The no-budge formula is in for the long haul, morning to night, read to tackle whatever life throws at you.

Promises vs. Performance: Teint Idole excels at long wear.

This classic Lancome foundation promises 24 hours of color true, full coverage wear. Teint Idole has a natural matte finish and feels lightweight and breathable on the skin. Its all-day wear claims to be transfer and humidity resistant. The oil free foundation says it won’t oxidize or fade either. Lancome does claim Teint Idole is fragrance free, noncomedogenic, and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive. You’ll also find SPF 15 in the formula and 50 shades to choose from.

Whether you like to apply your face base with a sponge or a brush, you’ll find Lancome Teint Idole has an easy application that provides immediate medium to full coverage. Its natural finish allows it to pair well with any primer, sort of mimicking whatever you wear underneath. Pair a more matte primer for a soft matte finish, or a hydrating primer for extra glow. I haven’t found many foundations to be as long wearing as this Lancome foundation. It definitely has that up to 24 hours of weara that stays color true, while being humidity and transfer resistant. I appreciate that even when I don’t set my face, I don’t feel extra greasy or oily, nor do I have a ton of settling and creasing.

In need of a good foundation brush? Its pricey, but the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush ($55) is my favoite.

Our Rating Criteria

How It Compares: This Lancome foundation is one of the best.

Lancome Teint Idole is one of my favorite foundations in my collection. I can always count on it to perform and withstand a full day’s wear. Its lightweight texture applies easily with a brush or sponge, giving an immediate medium to full coverage with a natural finish. Teint Idole pairs well with just about any primer and doesn’t require a setting powder for all-day wear. Though, if you are oilier, I’d top it off with a powder or spray! What I love most about Teint Idole is its near flawless wear. It stays in place from application to removal, resisting transfer, fading, settling, and withstanding humidity.

If we’re looking for full coverage that lasts all day with no transfer, very minimal settling/creasing, and is virtually life proof, look to Esteé Lauder Double Wear (rated **** 4.6). This coveted foundation is iconic for a reason. Its application is easy, giving way to flawless full coverage that does.not.budge. But, it does come at a slightly higher price tag. A bottle and pump will set you back $60, which puts you in luxury foundation territory. Talking about luxury category Lancome Teint Idole (rated **** 4.6) does give Armani Luminous Silk (rated **** 4.4), which is an industry standard, run for the money providing a slightly better performance at a lower cost.
