Promises vs. Performance: T3 curling iron has a lot to offer.

T3 Switch Kit curling iron offers a twist and switch design for seamless interchangeable barrels with an incredible upgrade to their twist lock mechanism. I know this might not seem that exciting, but, T3 added a rubber bottom to their twist lock to double as a stand for when styling with the curling iron. The original curling iron would always move on me and wouldn’t be secure on my desk when in use.

When talking about performance the new T3 curling iron promises glossy finish with long hold. What drives these results is their technology, Rapid HeatIQ for quick and even heat, and CeraGloss™ Ceramic Barrels that works in tandem to provide glossy hair finish.

Another upgrade and improvement is precise heat for every hair type. No matter what hair type you have, T3 curling iron has got you covered with 9 temperature heat settings ranging for thin, medium or thick hair.

My personal thoughts on new T3 Curling Iron…

One thing to note right from the start, the new T3 curling iron performs really well. The results were glossy as promised, and the curls were long lasting. T3 Curling Irons were always exceptional when it comes to long lasting curls with really smooth and shiny results.

Now to a few gripes I have with the new T3 curling iron. The biggest drawback for the New T3 switch Kit curling iron is that it is not backward compatible, nor are old barrels forward compatible. These barrels are not cheap, and if someone has invested a lot of money into the older version and would like to get an additional barrel from the new series, like the new 0.5″ wand barrel, that person would have to start over. One has to purchase the new T3 Switch Kit that includes the base and any 3 barrels of your choosing starting at $299.99.

There is a big precedence that is already set by Dyson Airwrap system. To Dyson, backward or forward compatibility is a standard. All of the attachments can be used with the original system and new system. So, the owner does not have to invest a lot of money to continue using new or improved attachments. IMO, T3 Switch Kit curling iron should’ve considered and implemented the same benefit because people will notice.

This is a personal preference, but their temperature indicator technology is not my favorite. I really appreciate the fact that they went from 5 temperature settings to 9, but there is still nothing on the iron that tells me what the temperature is really set to. You have to open up the manual to see exactly where the indicator is set to know what temperature you’re using. Again, this is just a personal preference, but it gives me a peace of mind knowing how high or low my heat tool temp is when I’m styling my hair.

Considering the pro and luxury price category for hair styling tools, T3 Curling Iron Kit is a great price for the Switch Kit. You get the base and three barrels right below $300 which means each tool is coming in at $100. Pro-grade means (most of the time) you do get peace of mind that the hair tool will continue working though the years, it will keep your hair safe, and you get the latest technology. T3 curling iron kit provides all of that and leaves you with long lasting shiny hair curls. This is a hard hair tool to beat. There is Bio Ionic and GHD platforms that compete on the same level of technology, but they do not provide the interchangeable barrels.

Let’s say you want to spend less and still have a beast of performance, Hot Tools has being trusted by the professionals for years now. It is a very solid hair brand that makes hair tools which keeps going and going… The gold plating will increase the performance of the tool, but you do have to be careful. Gold Plating curling irons come with more risk of causing hair damage. When a tool is gold plated or copper plated… without additional technology to control the heat transfer into the hair, the tool can be quickly misused. The end result is damaged hair and it can take years to fix.

T3 Curling Iron Dupe

There are many interchangeable curling irons that you can find on Amazon. I would use extra caution when purchasing a curling iron from amazon. You have to leave the hair on the iron for 5-20 seconds (depending on many factors) to style it, this introduces a lot of risk to the hair. The irons can runaway with the heat at the worst and break too quick at the least. I would stick with brands that have a track record and some kind of quality control like Conair, Revlon, Remington… These are your traditional drugstore curling irons.

An affordable curling iron to take a look at is the Conair Double Ceramic Curling Iron. It is ceramic plated that evens out the heat and does not transfer it too quickly into the hair. This is a simple but a safe technology to use on the Curling Iron (BTW it’s a different story when it comes down to other tools like flat irons).
