PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Foundation: A drugstore foundation winner.
There’s some award winning foundations that can be found in the drugstore category. One of the standouts has received a lot of hype and accolades from Glamour Magazine. That is Revlon’s PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation. The name itself boasts a ton of great benefits, and I enjoyed wearing it. I can now confidently express that if this product was protecting me against environmental hazards, it also looked beautiful in the process. Win-win. Let’s dive into the Revlon Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation Review.
Promises vs. Performance: PhotoReady drugstore price for high end performance.
Revlon makes a lot of promises about its PhotoReady Natural Finish foundation. They advertise weightless, medium coverage that is light and natural looking. The hydrating formula is also said to have antipollution, antioxidant, and anti-blue light properties. Free of oils, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, and harsh fragrances, this foundation is suited for all skin types.
My Review Thoughts on Revlon Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation
Focusing on wearability, I was pleasantly wowed by how this face base delivered. Starting with shade 130 Ivory, I applied the product with a foundation brush and then switched to a Beautyblender for smoothing and layering. It went on beautifully with both tools. Under the PhotoReady, I applied Neutrogena Shine Control Matte Booster Face Primer + Serum onto one side of my face so that I could test the wear with and without primer. PhotoReady foundation wore equally as well on the primed and unprimed sides.
At the end of a long day, I was happy to find that the coverage had stayed true and even across my face. The only trace of disruption to my flawless look was some very minor cracking around my smile lines and a teensy bit of shine on my forehead. It can be hard to get that kind of wear from even high end brands.

How It Compares: Could another drugstore foundation rival PhotoReady Candid?
I was so pleased by PhotoReady’s performance. There’s a lot to love about this slamming drugstore makeup, from the lasting, even coverage to the airbrushed finish. However, in order to give some product comparison, let me mention what is widely considered to be a standard drugstore liquid product, L’Oréal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear (rated ****4.4).
Infallible Fresh Wear is a beauty industry favorite and a solid dupe for the pricier Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup (rated ****4.6). It comes in nearly as many shades as PhotoReady (30 versus 31), and it has the added benefit of SPF 25 sun protection. For those reasons, along with its glowing reputation, Infallible might be slightly ahead of PhotoReady for some. But from my experience with both, I don’t think buyers can go wrong.
One final note, drier skin types might take care to moisturize well or use a hydrating primer before PhotoReady. It dried down to slightly more of a matte texture than I had expected.

Milabu Beauty Method: Get the best finish and wear from this foundation.
I love the way this product looks no matter what method I’ve used to apply with:
- Dispense about a nickel size of foundation on the back of your hand.
- Swipe the foundation evenly across your face.
- Blend in with your tool of choice.
Tip: I love the way this product looks no matter what method I’ve used to apply it, including brush and sponge. My tools of choice are a Beautyblender ($20) or a buffing brush like this one from e.l.f. ($6).
