Our Rating Criteria

I am super impressed with Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer.

ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer is a newer launch from Revlon and I was super excited to test it. When I picked it up, it had already gotten many rave reviews on Ulta.com, with several users saying things it blends easily, doesn’t look patchy, and it lasts all day. But, we all know not every product works for everyone. Personally, I have normal to combination skin and concealers tend to settle into my fine lines. I also live in a hotter, more humid climate, so even long wearing makeup can underperform. Let’s review if Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer works for me.

Promises vs. Performance: Let’s see how these 24 hour wear claims hold up.

Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer calls iteslf a “multitasking 5-in-1 concealer that erases, perfects, brightens, hydrates, and refreshes skin.” The lightweight formula promises to wear comfortably for up to 24 hours, even resisting transferring. It claims an ultra lightweight, buildable formula that gives natural coverage. The formula is infused with caffeine and vitamin C to aid in a brightened, wide awake look. This concealer promises to hide dark circles and imperfections while brightening skin and camouflaging puffiness. ColorStay Skin Awaken has an antibacterial sponge tip applicator, and the formula is free of parabens, phthalates, fragrance, and mineral oil.

My Review Thoughts: Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer

Right off the bat, the applicator is a nice touch as it helps to not distribute too much product. I didn’t use it to blend in the concealer, and instead used a brush of my own. It blended out super easily and gives a solid medium coverage that can be built up to a fuller coverage. However, it does set quickly! I recommend working one eye/area of the face at a time for best results. The formula is nondrying, giving a natural to soft matte finish that still allows the glow of my skincare to peek through. My skin looks healthy, hydrated, and awake when I wear this concealer. It’s brightening without being too luminous.

When it comes to the wear, I’m impressed there too. As I said, my skin looks healthy and hydrated, not dry. It has minimal settling/creasing and does not accentuate texture and lines. We all dread that crepey under eye look, and ColorStay Skin Awaken did not give that. I wouldn’t say it has a 24 hour wear (TBH, I typically only have makeup on for around 12 hours), but it wears beautifully while it’s on.

Our Rating Criteria

Let’s Review How It Compares: There’s so much to love about Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer.

I’ve got to say, Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer is a bomb concealer. The formula has a lightweight texture that blends easily, even with it having a quicker set time (work one eye/area at a time for best results!). When blended out with the fingers or a brush, it gives a solid medium coverage that can be sheered out or built up. Paired with a setting powder, it wears beautifully for a full day (8+ hours) with minimal settling or creasing. There’s none of that dreaded crepey under eye look with this one! If you need a concealer that provides ample coverage and brightens without being too radiant, this is one to check out.

But, in my opinion, there’s many concealers at the drugstore that perform well for specific uses. While Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (rated ****4.1) is iconic and great for dark circles, it isn’t the best for concealing imperfections like blemishes and redness.
