Our Rating Criteria

Full coverage, matte lovers, NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation may be your new favorite.

If you know me, you know I love a good makeup steal. This NYX foundation is truly a drugstore gem. Boasting full coverage with a lightweight, comfy wear, NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation is an overachiever and a steal at just $15. This foundation surprised me (in a really good way). I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do. This foundation is impressive with how it looks and wears throughout the day. Let me explain.

Promises vs. Performance: A comfy, lightweight full coverage foundation.

Pigmented AF” is how NYX describes their Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation, which comes in 45 shades (impressive!). With a comfy, lightweight feel, this matte foundation packs a punch. It has some high claims, with up to 24 hours of wear that keeps your shine at bay and keeps you matte all day long. The full coverage, transfer proof foundation is noncomedogenic and suitable for all skin types. And, it’s waterproof – perfect for any adventures you may go on!

I’m going to be honest with you. I didn’t love this foundation when I first applied it. Because it is so full coverage, it looked heavy, cakey, and accentuated all of my imperfections (from peach fuzz, fine lines, and texture). But, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this foundation by the end of the day. The foundation melted in the perfect way making it look like my skin but better.

When applying Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation, I would suggest using a damp sponge to achieve more buildable coverage and a natural finish. With a brush, you’re going to get an instant full coverage that can look heavier. NYX isn’t lying when they say this foundation is “pigmented AF”! A little bit goes a long way with this face base. Trust me, you barely need half a pump for your entire face! By using a damp sponge, you get more control with the consistency, coverage, and finish. After a full day of wear (about 8 hours), my imperfections still look airbrushed and my pores look blurred. The foundation doesn’t budge as much as I anticipated and my forehead shine is minimal.

One thing to note is that it can oxidize, so pick a shade more neutral or cool than your skin tone.

How It Compares: NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation doesn’t stop with full coverage.

Oh, how this foundation surprised me! I really didn’t think I’d enjoy this foundation as much as I do. While the initial application wasn’t my favorite, this is one of those foundations that looks better after a few hours of wear. I recommend applying with a damp sponge to alleviate any potential heavy/cakey finish. This foundation is packed with pigment and coverage, therefore a little bit goes a long way. You barely need half a pump for your entire face! Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation is a soft matte, long wearing finish and keeps your shine and oils at bay. Within the drugstore price category, this full coverage foundation is a great option.

Keep your options open.

Another full coverage drugstore foundation I love is Juvia’s Place I Am Magic (rated **** 4.3). It has a true matte finish, long wear, and easy application. But, if matte foundation isn’t your jam, check out my drugstore holy grail: L’Oreal Infallible (rated ****4.3). With up to 24 hours of wear, Infallible provides buildable coverage with a natural, lit-from-within finish. It’s one of the few drugstore foundations that never lets me down. This formula wears beautifully with a range of products, from cream to powder within the drugstore to luxury price categories.
