There’s a reason NYX Bare With Me Concealer went viral.
You know, I’m not always fully on board with viral products. But, I always have to try them to see why they wen’t viral. I have to give it up to NYX for this one, because their Bare With Me Concealer Serum is phenomenal. For starters, it’s only $11.99. Second, and this is a rare one for me, there is a perfect color match. Usually with concealers, drugstore or not, I have two shades that I have to create my own concoction with. Let me tell you all the reasons why this concealer is amazing.
Promises vs. Performance: You don’t even have to set this concealer if you don’t want to.
Newer to the NYX line-up is their Bare With Me Concealer Serum. NYX calls it a “skintervention,” that fuses the power of concealing with skincare benefits for face and body. It promises to cover anything from dark circles to acne to redness, yet hydrating dry patches and giving skin an up to 24 hour boost of moisture. The formula is infused with tremella mushroom, cica, and green tea to aid in hydration and hiding redness. Bare With Me Concealer claims a medium coverage with a natural finish that doesn’t get cakey.
You may think this concealer won’t be easy to apply with the first pump as it appears thick, but it will quickly surprise you. As you apply it under your eyes or on any spots, you’re met with a lightweight texture that blends in easily and beautifully. I personally like to first tap it into my skin using my finger, then take a brush and diffuse it out more. I’ve used it with a beauty sponge before, too, and even that gave me a beautiful result. I find that a little bit goes a long way with this concealer and it is easy to get a buildable medium coverage.
I find that Bare With Me Concealer has a sort of self-setting property and you can wear it on it’s own, however a loose finishing powder does extend the wear, especially if layered with a hydrating eye cream. This ensures you have a flawless wear all day long. Oh, and did I mention there’s very little to no creasing or settling? The formula is fluid and stretchy, moving with your skin. Just another reason to love it!

How It Compares: NYX Bare With Me Concealer is phenomenal.
Dare I say I like this more than the other drugstore concealers in my collection? Yes, it is that good. Ever since I first tried this concealer when it launched late 2021, I couldn’t stop using it. From the lightweight wear, the blendable formula, and the flawless coverage: I love everything about it. And, the shade ‘Vanilla’ is my perfect color (finally, a drugstore concealer I don’t have to mix!). Under the eyes, it flawlessly conceals dark circles. Spots and redness? Those will be concealed, too. The formula blends easily with fingers, a brush, or a sponge. The wear, too, is phenomenal. There is very little to no creasing or settling, especially when set with a powder.
Still, I have to give some props to the classic Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (rated ****4.1). It’s a classic for a reason, providing brightening coverage to the under eye area. I will say, I think NYX Bare With Me is more versatile and has a less messy packaging/application. In our book, it takes reign of my favorite drugstore concealer.
Milabu Beauty Method: Take that, dark circles!
- Start with 1 pump of concealer on the back of your hand. Warm up with your fingertips a bit.
- Using your ring finger, pick up a dab of product and blend under your eyes. I like using my fingertips first to really put the concealer where I want it and melt it into my skin. Do this for both eyes.
- Next, take a brush (I love my Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer Brush, $16) and finish blending out the concealer. A beauty sponge works great as well, but I prefer a brush with the serumy texture.
- Set with a lightweight powder. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder ($8.49) is one I recently re-discovered and love for the under eye area.
