AOA Concealer Review:

It may be cheap and need a bit of TLC, but Miss A Concealer ‘Paw Paw’ isn’t the worst concealer I’ve tried. It provides coverage and applies easily. However, I have done a review on better options than this AOA concealer.

Our Rating Criteria

I can’t say Paw Paw Concealer is my favorite, but I didn’t expect much from this $1.55 concealer.

I know, I know. A concealer for under $1? How in the world could that possibly be any good?! Well, I used my face as a guinea pig so you don’t have to. This concealer has some good reviews. Surprisingly, a lot of the products from Miss A aren’t that bad and are at least workable, Paw Paw Concealer included. While it’s not my favorite concealer I’ve used, I have to give it props. For being so cheap, I was super surprised by the performance. So, let’s dive into AOA Concealer Review.

Promises vs. Performance: Miss A Concealer has a lot of promising claims. But will they hold up?

So, what kind of claims can a concealer that’s under $2 have? Some good ones, apparently! Paw Paw Concealer promises an all day wear without settling into lines. The creamy concealer is said to have a medium to full coverage that conceals dark circles, blemishes, and dark spots. Miss A says you can even use it to highlight and brighten by using a shade lighter, or contour with a darker shade.

My Review Thoughts: AOA Concealer

Suggested application for this concealer is with fingers or a concealer brush. I started with my fingers to see how easy it would be to blend out. Much to my surprise, the formula was creamier and lighter weight than I expected, and blended out pretty easily with just my fingertips. It provided me a solid medium coverage that hid my under eye circles. I’v got to say, the coverage impressed me.

But, AOA Concealer wear did not impress me during review. Before I even finished my makeup, my under eye area looked dry. And, by the end of the day, the concealer was creased and had settled into my fine lines. I think a couple things could help with this. One, I did not set this concealer. I would definitely recommend setting with a loose powder to prevent as much creasing and settling as possible. Two, I would prep my under eye area better. I suggest applying a rich eye cream before your makeup to ensure your under eyes are hydrated and avoid the area looking dry.

Our Rating Criteria

Let’s Review How AOA concealer Compares: For the price, it’s a solid concealer. But it’s not the best option.

Honestly, I can’t be mad at how this concealer wore. For the price, I expected a lot worse, to be honest. But, it provided me with a solid medium coverage that concealed my dark circles. The texture was creamy, and it was easy to blend in using just the fingertips. Though, the wear is where this concealer lacks. It made my under eyes look dry, and I was left with creasing and settling at the end of the day. Though, I do think prepping with an eye cream and setting with a powder would help this some.

If you’re on the hunt for a good concealer that won’t let you down, I’d probably skip this one from Miss A and go straight for a tried and true classic: Instant Age Rewind. This Maybelline concealer is iconic for a reason. It’s well loved formula provides a brightening, medium coverage that conceals dark circles effortlessly. It’s blendable with any application method (fingers, brush, or sponge), and wears beautifully with little to no creasing or settling.

Milabu Beauty Method: Prepping and setting is essential to making this Miss A concealer work.

Before starting your makeup, prep your under eyes with your favorite eye cream. One of my favorites is the Origins Ginzing Vitamin C Eye Cream.

  1. Squeeze about a pea sized amount of concealer onto the back of your hand.
  2. Warm up using your finger tips.
  3. Using your ring finger, dab a bit of product under each eye.
  4. Taking your ring finger again, blend out the product. If you find it isn’t blending as easily as you’d like, I recommend using a damp sponge.
  5. Set with a lightweight powder. One of my favorites is Maybelline’s Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder.
