Miss A Makeup Fat Lash Mascara promises separated, volumized lashes.

Miss A (AOA Studio) Makeup isn’t the most ingredient friendly brand, as cheaper products come with a compromise. However, AOA mascara is one of their products, which is a bit better ingredient-wise. It is a nontoxic formula free of fragrance (love!) that I feel a bit better putting around my eyes since it is so cheap. Fat Lash retails for $1 promising length, volume, and longevity. I mean, for $1, if this mascara works, I’ll be impressed. Let’s review AOA Fat Lash Mascara.

Promises vs. Performance: What can a cheap mascara do?

At $1, Fat Lash Mascara from Miss A has some bold promises. Expect buildable length and volume, and defined lashes with a clump free application. The formula is long wearing, promising no smudges and to never run. It’s safe for sensitive eyes with its cruelty free, nontoxic formula that is free of fragrance, mineral oil, and PEG.

My Review Thoughts: AOA Fat Lash Mascara

I’ve got to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of Fat Lash Mascara. The micro bristles on the wand really helped grab onto each lash, separating them with no clumping. This isn’t your dramatic, bold mascara, and I’m okay with that. Sometimes a natural, wispy lash look is what you’re going for and this mascara gave that. It wore pretty well, with very minimal transfer and smudging, but a bit of flaking. For the price, I’m impressed.

How Miss A AOA Mascara Compares: You get what you pay for.

When it comes to cheaper makeup, you sometimes get what you pay for. I think this is especially true when it comes to brands like Miss A Makeup that pride themselves on all products being around $1. That being said, I was impressed with Fat Lash Mascara. For the most part, it did what it promised: separated, added volume, and lengthened my lashes. Though, the volume and length were more on the subtle side. This definitely isn’t that dramatic, false lash effect mascara. Instead, it gives natural, wispy lashes, which I’m okay with. I will say, the wear might be what surprised me most. I expected this mascara to give me raccoon eyes, but I had very minimal transfer or smudging, just some minor flaking.

While it does perform…

However, I don’t think this mascara is going to make it into my rotation. There are so many drugstore mascara formulas that go above and beyond for just a couple more bucks. My personal favorite is Maybelline Lash Sensational. With it, I get mega volume, length, and separated, defined lashes. It lasts all day, free of smudging, transfer, or flaking. I love that I can layer Lash Sensational for anything from a natural to false lash look.
