Will the Milk Makeup Contour Stick impress me?
While dramatic contouring might be out, subtle contour is still so in. Brands are still riding the contour wave (many thanks to Charlotte Tilbury and her viral contour wand) and releasing their own versions. Milk Makeup added to their complexion stick family with their own contour stick. Previously, they only had their Bronzer Stick, which is not my fave. So, I can’t say I was super stoked for this launch. And as much as I love the Westman Atelier Contour Stick, I would love something a bit cheaper.
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: The Milk Makeup Contour Stick is perfect for underpainting.
Milk Makeup Contour Stick is pretty simple. It’s a matte, cream contour stick meant to add dimension and depth to your face. The cool toned pigment is designed to mimic natural shadows. It’s formula promises to be blendable, buildable, and hydrating. And the Milk Makeup Sculpt Stick may look tiny but its mighty – Milk Makeup claims 1,000+ swipes per stick.
Whether you want to do some underpainting or layer over top of makeup, the Milk Makeup Contour Stick can do it all. It’s thin enough to apply underneath makeup for more of a subtle contour. Or, apply over makeup for a bit more dramatic sculpting. The formula is super creamy, super blendable and has the perfect amount of coolness to the pigment to be a natural contour. It’s also long wearing with no fading or patchiness when set.
How It Compares: Is this the best cream contour stick?
The Milk Sculpt Contour Stick may just be the new best cream contour stick. It’s easy and blendable enough for beginners, but buildable for those who are contour pros. The formula is one of the creamiest while still drying down matte. And while the small size could be a con, it’s actually the perfect size to precisely draw your contour exactly where you want it. Finally, a cream contour stick that’s affordable and performs well!
Comparison To Top Performers
So, we know the Milk Makeup Sculpt Contour Stick is a good one, but how does it compare to others? Spoiler alert, it’s one of the highest rated.
Industry Standard (Prograde)
Many people, including myself, love the Fenty Match Stix Contour Sticks. They have a great shade range and are easy to apply. Where these shine is their shade range. There’s 9 shades, meaning you can get the most accurate contour shade for your skin tone.
Industry Standard (Luxury)
The Westman Atelier Contour Stick has been a favorite of mine for quite some time, but it is on the pricier side.Full size, you only get 0.21oz of product for $48 (mini is 0.09oz for $25). Even still, I love it. It has the creamiest formula that blends like a dream. It looks beautiful when used over or under makeup and wears well.
