Milk Makeup Blur Stick: For use with and without makeup.
Milk Makeup is known for their more natural products and their convenient stick packaging. The Blur Stick has been talked about as a clean dupe for the iconic Benefit Porefessional. It is said to blur pores and fine lines, mattify the skin, and more. A product has a lot to beat if it’s going to be better than Porefessional, in my opinion. I tested this product alongside a bunch of other Milk products in a video for the Milabu channel titled, “Hemp Infused Makeup?! Hmm…”
Well, what did I think? Let’s review Milk Blur Stick Primer.
Promises vs. Performance: Pore blurring, yes. But long lasting?
According to Sephora.com, this product claims to do a lot of things. Not only is it said to be pore blurring and mattifying, but it is also supposed to blur fine lines, control oil, and extend the wear time of makeup. It has a velvety smooth formula that is to instantly melt into the skin for a shine free canvas. Like most of Milk’s products, Blur Stick is vegan, cruelty free, silicone free, dimethicone free, oil free, and more.
My Review Thoughts: Milk Blur Stick Primer
I applied this primer stick directly to the skin, swiping it across my t-zone. The formula is creamy, but it feels a bit chalky on the skin instead of the velvety texture the product claims. Instantly, you can tell it is a very matte formula. It did instantly blur my pores as promised, which is great! However, by the end of the day, I was not loving this product. The makeup on my chin was almost entirely worn off, and what was left looked dry and crusty.
How It Compares: It doesn’t come close to Benefit Porefessional.
While the Milk Blur Stick did indeed blur my pores during the review and instantly mattify my skin, I can’t say I love the performance of it. It did not increase the longevity of my makeup and it was drying after all day wear. For the price ($36), this product is not worth it, and is definitely not a clean alternative for the iconic Benefit Porefessional ($32). Porefessional does everything the Blur Stick promises and more.
