Milani Gilded Nude Palette Review

Gilded Nude has some great everyday shades. However, this Milani Eyeshadow Palette had some fallout and was difficult to work with.

Milani Gilded Nude Eyeshadow Palette: I didn’t love it as much as the Gilded Terra.

Milani Cosmetics has quite a few Gilded Eyeshadow Palettes (10, to be exact). While similar in packaging, these Milani Eyeshadow Palettes hold very different shade ranges. I also found their formulations to be a little different as well. I’ve tried two Gilded palettes, the Gilded Terra ($19.99), which has earthy and jewel toned shades, and the Gilded Nude, holding neutral shades. Overall, I found the Gilded Nude to be more difficult to apply. Let’s dive into Milani Gilded Nude Palette Review.

Promises vs. Performance: The Gilded Nude Eyeshadow Palette isn’t as pigmented or easy to apply.

The Gilded Palettes hold metallics, shimmers, and neutrals, to create many different eyeshadow looks. As Milani’s website says, whether you want “no makeup makeup or amped up color,” these palettes have you covered.

My Review Thoughts: Milani Gilded Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I created a rosy, shimmering eyeshadow look with Gilded Nude. I first primed my lids with Milani Eyeshadow Primer ($8.99). Then, I swirled the light salmon Me Time all over my lids. In my crease, I placed the rosy shades Boozy Brunch and Offline. In the outer corner, I layered Do Not Disturb, a nude brown. On my lid, I placed the silver shimmer shade Detox and wet it with Milani Make It Last ($9.99) to get more payoff. To intensify the outer corner, I added the dark brown & Chill. To finish the look, I placed rosy shadows on my bottom lash line.

After applying the shimmering Detox, I noticed lots of fallout. After I finished applying, I wiped my under eyes to remove the fallout. But it was in my lashes, and after the all day wear test, I still saw lots of glitter on my face.

I also felt like I had to work pretty hard to make these eyeshadows pop. They weren’t as pigmented as expected. However, my shimmering look lasted all day, no creasing or fading (this may be due to the Milani Eyeshadow Primer). My eyeshadow looked stunning at the end of the night. The extra work may be worth it!

Compared to the Gilded Terra, this palette was harder to work with. I found Terra to be blendable and pretty easy to apply. And while both had fallout, the Gilded Nude had more (and I used shimmer shades from both palettes). Still, I really enjoy both these Milani eyeshadow palettes. And the Gilded Nude version has some beautiful everyday shades.

How It Compares: e.l.f. Bite Size Eyeshadow Palette is always easy to apply.

This review would not be complete with comparing Milani Gilded Nude Palette to top eyeshadows. So, while I had some trouble applying Gilded Nude, I never have trouble with this standout palette at the drugstore. It’s the e.l.f. Bite Size ($3). These palettes hold four eyeshadows in both matte and shimmer finishes. The super creamy and pigmented shades are easy to apply. And, just like the Gilded Nude, they never crease or fade.

Milabu Beauty Method: Six steps to a silver glitter eyeshadow look.

While applying these eyeshadows was a little difficult, once you’re done, you’ll have a stunning eye look that turns heads. I recommend applying your eye makeup before your face base. That way, you can easily remove the fallout from under your eyes without disturbing your other makeup.

  1. Prime your eyelids. My favorite at the drugstore is this one by Wet n Wild ($5.49).
  2. With a fluffy eyeshadow brush, spread Me Time all over your lids.
  3. Using the same brush, take Boozy Brunch and Offline and smooth into your lid, focusing on the outer corner. Then pick up Do Not Disturb and place in the outer corner.
  4. Pick up Detox on a flat eyeshadow brush. Then wet the brush with a fine mist, like the Milani Make It Last ($9.99). Press into your lid, from the inner corner to a little past the middle of your lid.
  5. With a smaller crease brush, take & Chill and swirl into your crease and outer corner.
  6. Remove the fallout from under your eyes. Then, After applying your face base and concealer, take Boozy Brunch and Offline on a small pencil brush and apply to the outer corner of your bottom lash line until a little past the middle of your lid.

Tip: When removing glitter from your under eyes, try using tape. Tap the sticky tape against your skin to pick up the loose glitter.
