A lipstick is the cherry on top for any makeup look. Take a natural look and throw on a red lip for subtle glam, or create a monochromatic cheek + lip. And, once you’ve found the perfect formula, you’re sure to buy it in multiple colors. That’s how I feel about MERIT Signature Lip. The formula is nourishing and the shades are stunning. Is. this the longest lasting lipstick in my collection? Not quite, but it is one of my favorites. Let get into MERIT Signature lip Lipstick Review.
Quick Rating Rundown
:MERIT Signature Lipstick
Promises vs. Performance: Dry lips rejoice with this MERIT lipstick.
Hydrating, lightweight, and buildable are just the main claims of MERIT Signature Lip. MERIT Beauty says this is “lipstick you can live in” that is “so lightweight, you’ll forget you’re wearing it.” The satin lipstick provides sheer, but buildable color that can be layered for a saturated look or sheered out for a tint of color. Its hydrating formula is infused with plant derived squalane and sunflower seed oil for long lasting moisture, papain enzyme to soothe lips, and stabilized vitamin C to help diminish the appearance of fine lines.
My Review Thoughts: MERIT Signature Lip Lipstick
Guys, I’ve found my new favorite everyday lipstick. MERIT Lipstick has the most beautiful formula, perfect amount of pigment, and that juicy lip look I like – I fell in love during review. The bullet lipstick is easy to apply thanks to its slippy texture and sheer formula. I love that I can apply it without a mirror for a sheer wash of color or layer it for a more saturated, bold lip.
One of my favorite things about this lipstick is how it doesn’t cling to, settle, or exaggerate any lip imperfections from fine lines to dryness to flakiness. It truly is the hydrating, forget-its-even-there lipstick MERIT promises. And, although it isn’t the longest lasting, it’s one I don’t mind reapplying because the formula is just that good. If I had to guess, I get a solid 4 hours of wear from this lipstick – if I don’t eat.
Let’s Review How It Compares: MERIT Lipstick is one of the most comfortable.
If you hate the feeling of lipstick, love the feeling of tinted lip balms, but want more pigment than a balm has to offer — this review is here to tell you MERIT lipstick is the one to check out. The formula is creamy, glides on effortlessly, and has the perfect amount of pigment for an everyday lipstick. But, don’t let the sheer formula fool you – it can be built up for more saturated color or layered with a lip liner or gloss for some extra oomph. While this isn’t the most long wearing lip color, the formula is so nice I don’t mind reapplying periodically.
Comparison To Top Lipsticks
There are several other hydrating lipsticks I love in the luxury beauty category. The iconic Chanel Rouge Coco Flash is one of my favorites. Both of these offer great pigment for the type of lippie they are, along with an excellent feel and finish on the lips. They don’t dry out the lips or accentuate any sort of imperfections like dryness or fine lines. Of course, these aren’t your 8+ hour, no budge, transfer proof wear. For a formula in that realm, I recommend NARS Power Matte or a liquid lipstick like Dior Transfer Proof.
