Maybelline Sky High mascara provides length, but the flexible wand makes it hard to apply. For a waterproof formula, it is not mess free.

Will Maybelline Sky High mascara be as good as Lash Sensational?
I love the OG Lash Sensational, so I have high hopes for Maybelline Sky High. Lash Sensational is flawless giving me volume, length, definition, and curl (thanks to the curved brush). But, Sky High is a bit different, featuring a straight wand with separated, silicone bristles. While it gives lots of length, that’s about all this Maybelline mascara is good for. Despite its waterproof formula, it is prone to transferring, smudging, and flaking.
Promises vs. Performance: A flexible wand for limitless length and volume.
Maybelline Sky High Mascara promises “full volume and limitless length.” It features an exclusive ‘Flex Tower’ wand with silicone bristles that bends to reach each lash. The formula is waterproof, with a promise to not flake or smudge. Bamboo extract and fibers work to add length and volume. It is allergy tested, ophthalmologist tested, and safe for both sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Initial thoughts: I do not like this wand. It is flimsy and hard to control, making it difficult to layer for volume. I will say, the separated bristles of the wand do provide good volume and definition. But, the good things about Sky High Waterproof stop there. Even though it is a waterproof formula, it can still transfer and smudge. If you have oiler eyelids or you don’t set the concealer under your eyes, you’ll experience raccoon eyes pretty easily. And, the fibers in this mascara tend to flake.
Quick Rating Rundown
:Maybelline Sky High Mascara
How It Compares: This isn’t my favorite Maybelline mascara.
The verdict is in: Maybelline Sky High is not better than the OG Lash Sensational. Sky High promised volume and length, but only delivered length. The volume was hard to build because fo the flimsy wand. It was hard to control and was not easy to use when layering the mascara. The formula is waterproof, but, it is not free of transfer, smudging, and flaking.
With Lash Sensational, I don’t have to sacrifice anything. I get volume, length, definition, and separated lashes. The curved wand hugs the lashes perfectly, making it easy to lift the lashes and layer for additional volume and definition. The formula is smudge, transfer, and flake free (without being waterproof). It lasts all day long, easily over 10 hours, for anything from natural lashes to a falsie effect.
