Is Maybelline Fit Me Concealer a dupe for NARS Radiant Creamy?

We all love a good dupe, right? Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has been regarded as a dupe for the beloved NARS Radiant Creamy. The packaging is similar, a square shaped tube with a doe foot applicator. They have similar formulas in terms of lightweight, creamy texture. But, there’s some differences too. For starters, Fit Me doesn’t perform as well as Radiant Creamy in several ways. Albeit, it is still a decent concealer on its own. Let me explain.

Promises vs. Performance: Will Maybelline Fit Me Concealer perfect my complexion?

The claims for Maybelline Fit Me Concealer are pretty simple. This liquid concealer will cover redness, flaws, and blemishes for a natural, perfected complexion. It comes in 18 shades of various shades to most skin tones. The formula is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, as well as both fragrance and oil free.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has a lightweight, tacky texture that is best applied with the fingertips, as this helps warm it up and melt into skin easier. For best results, I recommend working one eye or area of the face at a time when blending in! As claimed, this concealer has a natural, buildable light to medium coverage. The finish of Fit Me Concealer is natural, not too matte but also not radiant, making it great for concealing any area of the face.

Although Fit Me does set to a non tacky finish, I still recommend setting it with a loose powder. Because the texture is tackier when first applied, the formula can settle into lines since it doesn’t really move with the skin. I find it can crease and look crepey after a full day of wear, and it definitely isn’t one I’d reach for if I want my concealer to last 8+ hours. I would call this your basic concealer. It doesn’t do much of anything extra, but it also isn’t the worst out there. For the best out there, check out my list of top drugstore concealers (rated ****4.0+).

How It Compares: It depends if you need full coverage and longevity.

I wouldn’t call this Maybelline concealer my favorite, but it does alright. It has a lightweight feel and natural finish that provides light to medium coverage. Fit Me Concealer doesn’t fully erase imperfections, but it does make them less noticeable. This is the type of concealer those who like natural makeup would enjoy. It’s not one that will last all day, as it can crease and settle, especially under the eyes. The shade range also isn’t the best. Maybelline says it comes in shades to match various skin tones, but, even on me, the lightest shade oxidizes to a warm tone. I would suggest going with a color a shade lighter than you think you need to compensate for this!

A much better drugstore concealer is the iconic Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (rating **** 4.1). Its packaging is unique, with its twist up, sponge tip applicator. This one has much more of a brightening finish and provides a solid medium coverage. It really is perfect for under eye brightening and can even be used to highlight the face. Its formula is much more fluid than Fit Me’s, giving it less of a chance to settle and crease under the eyes.

In my opinion, there’s many concealers at the drugstore that perform well for specific uses. While Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is iconic and great for dark circles, it isn’t the best for concealing imperfections like blemishes and redness. The Milabu Team has put together a list of our favorite, must try drugstore concealers (rated ****4.0+), broken down by what they’re good for. It includes favorites like the e.l.f. Camo Concealer, Colourpop No Filter, and newcomers like NYX Bare With Me.

Milabu Beauty Method: How to get the best wear with Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

I have a few tips for making Fit Me Concealer work with you and not against. For best results, you’ll want to start with a hydrated under eye area. I recommend a lightweight, brightening eye cream such as Origins Ginzing ($28-$37). Let this soak in for at least 5 minutes before applying your concealer on top.

After blending in your concealer, top if off with a loose setting powder. Coty Airspun ($5.79) is a classic that is great for a light dusting or a baking powder.
