Maybelline Falsies Mascara Review
I wouldn’t say Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara is as dramatic as it claims to be. However, it did separate and lengthen my lashes well. I’m excited to keep playing with this mascara.

Maybelline Lash Lift Mascara: False lashes without the hassle (or the glue).
I love the look of full, long eyelashes. Even better when I can get them without using false lashes, messy adhesive, or expensive lash extensions. That’s why I was so excited to try The Falsies Lash Lift Washable Mascara by Maybelline New York. This recent Allure winner for the best lengthening mascara is supposed to deliver dramatic length and volume. Falsies Lash Lift Mascara should provide the drama of fake lashes, which I love for special occasions or days when I want to look a little extra.
Does this mascara give me the look of false lashes? Keep reading the Maybelline Falsies Mascara review.
Promises vs. Performance: Does Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara really give dramatic length?
Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara is supposed to deliver dramatic length and volume to lashes. Maybelline calls this product a “lash lift look in a tube.” The double curved lifting brush and fiber infused formula supposedly grab lashes at the root to lift, lengthen, and thicken lashes. This formula should never clump, smear, or flake. It should only give the appearance of fake lashes that last all day.
My Review Thoughts: Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara Review
This mascara feels lightweight and has a drier formula, which is a huge plus for me. I typically prefer mascaras with drier formulas for easier application and quicker layering. I really enjoy this product’s boar bristle hourglass wand. It separates my lashes and applies the formula easily. I love how dark and pigmented the formula is as well. While this mascara doesn’t give me an extremely dramatic look, it does lengthen my lashes without clumping. I wouldn’t say the result is the look of false lashes or a lash lift, but it does make my lashes thicker and longer.
This formula is not transfer proof: By the end of the day, Maybelline Lash Lift Mascara transfers to my under eyes. I’d give it a solid five hours of wear before it beings flaking, smudging, and transferring. While it’s not a perfect mascara, it is affordable and does a good job. Let’s Review How It Compares: Maybelline Falsies Mascara versus the best drugstore mascara, Maybelline Lash Sensational.
While Maybelline Falsies Mascara adds length and thickness to my lashes, it doesn’t perform perfectly, as we observed during the review. It isn’t transfer proof and doesn’t add extreme volume. This mascara has a short lived wear, with it transferring as both smudges and flakes to both the under eye area and eyelids. I wouldn’t call this the #1 drugstore mascara by any means.
However, while Lash Lift isn’t the standard mascara, another Maybelline mascara is. It’s the Lash Sensational Washable Mascara (rated *****4.6). This mascara is definitely a cult favorite. Out of over 70,000 reviews on Amazon, it has a 4.5 star rating. And it’s popular for good reason: It does an incredible job of coating, fanning out, and separating lashes. This mascara is also extremely long wearing and never smudges, flakes, or transfers. Because of its performance and popularity, Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is the drugstore standard.
Milabu Beauty Method: How to apply Falsies Lash Lift Mascara for the most intensity.
Here are some tips on how to get the most intense lashes.
- To add some curl and volume to your lashes, start with a lash curler. I regularly use the Surratt Beauty Relevee Curler ($34). Place the curler along your lash line with your lashes in the opening. Gently press a few times until your lashes are upright.
- Place the hourglass wand at the base of your lashes. Close your eyes, allowing the brush to coat each lash from root to tip. Repeat this step to layer the mascara.
- Keep your eyes open and gently comb the wand through just the tips of your lashes.
- Use the end of the wand to coat your inner and outer corner lashes.
- Use an eyelash comb to separate your lashes. I use the Velour Too Easy Lash Applicator ($22).
- To apply to the lower lash line, zig zag the tip of the wand against your bottom lashes.
