MAC Fix Plus is a must-have in any makeup bag.
Versatile products and tools are a necessity for any makeup collection. One of my favorite versatile products is MAC Fix Plus, a setting spray that has a handful use uses. Properly known as Prep + Prime, this MAC setting spray can be used to prep skin, set and refresh makeup, and even as a tool to create foiled eyeshadows. Keep reading for my favorite tips & tricks so you can get the most out of your MAC Fix Plus.
Promises vs. Performance: Prime, set, and refresh skin.
MAC Fix Plus is a face spray that preps, sets, and refreshes makeup while keeping skin hydrated. It’s infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile, and cucumber to help soothe and hydrate skin. Prep + Prime sets and promises to improve the quality of makeup wear for up to 12 hours. The formula is packed with vitamins and minerals, non-acnegenic, and both dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. And not only can MAC Fix Plus be used to wet eyeshadows or pigments for a more intense, foiled look.
One of my most reached for face sprays is MAC Fix Plus and my favorite way to use it isn’t even as a setting spray. I always keep a bottle of Fix Plus handy, especially when I know I’m going to be doing some more glam eye looks. It is the perfect tool for turning any shimmer or glitter eyeshadow into a high-shine, foiled look. It’s especially useful with those pesky glitter shadows that have a ton of fallout. Wetting the brush helps bond the pigment together, plus it helps it to really pop when applied on the eyes.
Of course, MAC Fix Plus does make a pretty bomb makeup setting spray too. It locks makeup in place all day long and works to extend the longevity of makeup looks. The fine mister nozzle sprays flawlessly without leaving behind any water spots (but, just in case, I like to keep a damp Beautyblender nearby!). I experience no extra creasing or settling when I finish of my look with this MAC setting spray. Fix Plus also makes a great makeup refresher to spritz on for a little mid-day boost.

How It Compares: For a versatile face spray, look to MAC Fix Plus.
A cult favorite for a reason, MAC Fix Plus is a staple for any collection. It can be used to prep and prime skin, set and refresh makeup, and even create foiled eyeshadows. The claims are simple for this MAC setting spray: hydrate and refresh skin while improving makeup wear, keeping it on for up to 12 hours. I’d say it meets those claims pretty well. Its application is easy, with a fine mist that doesn’t leave behind many, if any, water spots. Prep + Prime actually does help extend the life of makeup, and it doesn’t make my skin feel dry or extra oily. For any makeup user, this face spray is a must-have.
