MAC Eye Kohl is silky smooth and creamy.
MAC Cosmetics is a staple for many makeup lovers, from the beautiful Mineralize Skinfinish to their beloved Lipsticks. But, there’s another product that deserves all the love: MAC Eye Kohl. This MAC eyeliner is creamy, applies silky smooth, and has intense pigment. Better yet, it’s safe for the waterline because of its kohl formula. Kohl eyeliner is one that is typically long wearing, safe for use inside the eyes, and is perfect for creating those smokey, bold eye looks. Typically, kohl eyeliner comes in blacks and browns, but this MAC eyeliner is a bit different. Let’s review MAC Eye Kohl Eyeliner.
Promises vs. Performance: This MAC eyeliner is safe for waterline use.
The Mac Cosmetics website doesn’t have much to say about this eyeliner. Their Eye Kohl is a pencil that lines, defines, and shades eyes. It has a silky smooth application and its shades come in either a matte or pearl finish. Even better, it is ophthalmologist tested, making it safe for waterline use and contact wearers.
My Review Thoughts: MAC Eye Kohl Eyeliner
Let’s review one of my favorite eyeliners for the waterline – MAC Eye Kohl. It glides on the lower lash line, upper lash line, and waterline smoothly with no tugging. The shade range is great for that of a kohl eyeliner, with it coming in 10 shades with matte and pearl finishes. I typically stick with the carbon black shade, Feline, but have had my eye on the gorgeous shade “Minted,” a vibrant mint green with a pearl finish. I don’t have any irritation when wearing this eyeliner in my waterline thanks to the ophthalmologist tested formula.
Despite the creamy texture, this eyeliner is long wearing and smudgeproof. I wouldn’t say it is completely transfer resistant, as I do get a bit of transfer in the corner of my eyes. Though, I feel like that is to be expected from a kohl eyeliner.
Let’s Review How It Compares: A pigmented MAC eye kohl for everyone.
We all know MAC has some winning products that are staples across all categories. This MAC eyeliner is one of them. Eye Kohl gives a silky smooth application with its creamy texture. It glides on easily with a no tug application. The formula is ophthalmologist tested, safe for contact lens wearers and safe for the waterline. My favorite uses for this kohl eyeliner is creating smokey eye looks and lining the waterline. If you’re looking for a good kohl pencil, I can’t forget to mention it in the review, this MAC Eye Kohl is good at just $19.
How To Use Eye Kohl: Create a smokey eye with MAC Eye Kohl.
- Make sure your liner is sharp! Give it a quick sharpen before applying.
- Gently line the upper lash line. Draw a small wing off the corner of your eye.
- Taking a small smudge brush (this one from Seint, $24, is one of my faves), smudge out the line you just drew. It doesn’t have to be perfect, as we are going for a smokey look.
- Line your waterline.
- Add a bit of liner to the lower lash line and take the same brush to smoke out the line.
