Loreal Lumi Foundation Review:
While this isn’t quite a dupe for my beloved Armani Luminous Silk, I still enjoy it. L’Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation provides buildable coverage with a healthy, luminous finish.

Before we get too far, I’m not saying it’s a perfect dupe…
Even though I don’t think anything will quite ever compare to Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, this foundation from L’Oreral is supposedly a drugstore dupe. Of course, I had to try see for myself and even put the two in a one-to-one wear test. L’Oreal True Match Lumi has been around the block, err, on the market for a while now. And, L’Oreal makes some bomb products. On the other hand, this foundation is more luminous than Luminous Silk, and the texture is more liquidy. However, the foundation is beautiful as a standalone. Let’s review Loreal Lumi Foundation.
Promises vs. Performance: L’Oreal True Match promises healthy skin.
This foundation has been around for quite some time. It’s an oldie, but a goodie if you will! L’Oreal True Match is a buildable full coverage foundation that boasts a healthy, luminous finish for skin. It contains ingredients to improve your complexion the more you wear it. In fact, L’Oreal promises clearer, healthier, more luminous skin after just one month of continuous wear. The formula is 40% pure water for all-day hydration, plus vitamin C and E for improved clarity and skin tone. It also includes Liquid Light Technology which gives an instant, luminous glow. In addition, True Match also features an SPF of 20, and promises to be good for all skin types, including sensitive.
My Review Thoughts on Loreal Lumi Foundation
I mean… Is there even a chance for anything to beat Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk? In my opinion, no, but there’s been some buzz in the beauty community that this foundation under $10 is a dupe. I gotta say, I don’t think it is. Yes, both foundations are luminous and provide a medium to full coverage. But, there are so many differences that stand out to me. That being said, I still think this is a solid foundation. It is easy to blend and apply, giving a buildable full coverage with a really pretty luminous glow. It lasts all day with little to no creasing, caking, or fading. And, it doesn’t exaggerate any texture I have going on with my skin and it has little to no settling. I love that I can apply this foundation with a brush or dampened sponge and the end result is beautiful with either.
Let’s Review How It Compares: Loreal Lumi Foundation is a solid one.
L’Oreal makes some great foundations. They’re home to what I think is the industry standard: L’Oreal Infallible. To compare the two, both offer a buildable full coverage that is long wearing. I don’t think either wears longer or better than the other. They differ in finish and color range. True Match only comes in 15 shades, while Infallible has 30 to choose from. If you’re looking for an ultra luminous finish, True Match would be a good pick, while if you’re looking for something a bit more subdued and natural, Infallible would be what you want.
I don’t think you could go wrong with either of these foundations! I truly enjoy them both.
Milabu Beauty Method: Time for glowy skin!
- Start out with one pump on the back of your hand.
- Swipe the foundation across your face. Concentrate more towards the center of your face, or wherever you need the most coverage.
- Take a dense brush (I love IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Face Brush, $49) and blend in the foundation.
- Layer more as needed to achieve your desired coverage.
- Since this is a more luminous foundation, I recommend setting. You can’t go wrong with pairing L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder ($11.99) on top.
