Overview
L’Oreal Infallible Concealer works well as an eyeshadow base, but not so much as a concealer. It does brighten and conceal under eyes and imperfections, but the wear isn’t the most spectacular.

I love Infallible Foundation but would I love L’Oreal Infallible Concealer?
L’Oreal has some bomb makeup products. From foundation and powder to lash primer and lipstick, this drugstore brand is affordable and high performing. Knowing how much I love the Infallible Foundation formula, I was super excited to test out the concealer version. Promising a lot of the same long wear and coverage claims, it sounds great. But, I can’t say I loved it as much as I love the foundation. Keep reading for my thoughts.
Promises vs. Performance: L’Oreal Infallible Concealer claims 24 hours of flawless wear.
Much like the iconic Infallible Foundation, Infallible Concealer promises “unstoppable” full coverage wear for up to 24 hours. Featuring a flawless matte finish, this concealer can be used to blur imperfections, contour, and highlight. If using for contouring or highlighting, L’Oreal recommends going 1-2 shades below or above your concealer shade. The waterproof, non greasy formula promises not to transfer, fade, or flake. And, a little bit of product goes a long way when covering anything from dark circles to scarring to discoloration.
It takes just a tiny bit of Infallible Full Wear under my eyes to brighten and conceal. The formula does blend out easily with a brush, sponge, or fingers but it also sets pretty quickly. I suggest working one eye (or area of the face) at a time, or taking a damp beauty sponge to blend if it does set too fast for you. As L’Oreal promised, my under eyes look concealed and brightened with this concealer. Because of how brightening it is on my skin, I like to also use it to the high points of my face to highlight.
I’ve got to give it up to L’Oreal, because this concealer is a good one. It can settle into fine lines and creases if you don’t set the formula, or your skin isn’t prepped properly (always use an eye cream in the AM!). On oilier skin, the formula can separate. But, again, this is dependent on how skin is prepped. For a waterproof formula, it isn’t drying and doesn’t look too cakey either. And, it works well as an eyeshadow base, too. I prepped my eyelids for shadow and it held on my eyeshadow all day long with no creasing, fading, or fall out!
Quick Rating Rundown
How It Compares: Skip L’Oreal Infallible Concealer.
There’s a few things I take into consideration when determining if a concealer is good or not: does it brighten and conceal, how does it wear, and can it also work as an eyeshadow primer? And, Infallible Full Wear passed my test! A little goes a long way with this full coverage concealer. It blends easily with any tool (though, it does set quickly!), providing an effortless full coverage that also brightens. When I wear Infallible Concealer, I experience minimal settling, creasing, and I don’t get that dreaded crepey look. Plus, it works well as an eyeshadow primer – a true test of a concealer in my opinion!
Instant Age Rewind (rated **** 4.1) from Maybelline continues to be my pick as the industry standard drugstore concealer. It’s an iconic product that’s been around for years and the performance is great. From covering dark circles to brightening the under eyes, coupled with a long wear that has minimal settling and creasing, it does everything I want a concealer to do. It does have a messy applicator, but I can overlook that for how good this concealer is!

Milabu Beauty Method: Prep eyelids for eyeshadow with this concealer.
- Using the doe foot applicator, dot a bit of product on your eyelids.
- You can use your finger to blend out, but I prefer a brush. The Deluxe Crease Brush from Real Techniques ($8.99) is one of my favorites.
- Let this dry down for a few moments before applying eyeshadow. I suggest starting with a base color that is neutral to set the concealer in place.
