Are There Better Options for Chanel Concealer?
You have to love the iconic gold interlocking double ‘C’ logo of Chanel. Even just the name itself sounds luxurious, and you can’t forget the pretty packaging all the products come in. I’ve got to say, I love seeing the little Chanel logos peeking out of my makeup bag. There’s a lot of products I love from the brand, including their Le Volume Mascara for out-of-this-world lashes and Les Beiges Bronzing Cream for a sunkissed glow. However, a product that wasn’t a standout for me was the Le Correcteur Concealer. It’s not that this is a bad concealer, it just didn’t wow me. Let’s dive into this Chanel concealer review, and see if there are better options.
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: There’s little promises from this Chanel concealer, but will there be big performance?
Chanel keeps it simple when it comes to the claims of their Le Correcteur De Chanel Concealer. They promise it to be a comfortable, long wearing, and hydrating formula. It features soft focus pigments which diffuse light for a flawless look. The gel based formula claims a buildable light to medium coverage. And, that’s about it. Now let’s see how it performs.
So, this is definitely more of a natural concealer. It doesn’t provide any kind of crazy, full coverage, but the light to medium coverage it does provide is very beautiful. It’s very creamy and blendable, blending out super easily with a brush. And because it is lightweight, it wore really well, which I was happy about. I didn’t have any extra creasing or settling and my under eyes still looked bright and awake at the end of the day. I will say, if you’re looking for a concealer with coverage, this isn’t it. But, if you like the natural makeup look (which I’m personally loving these days), this could be a good concealer for you.
My review, I don’t consider Le Correcteur De Chanel Concealer a must-have.
I’m not upset with how this concealer performed. It gave me a nice, naturally concealed and brightened under eye area. Le Correcteur definitely isn’t the full coverage concealer that instantly conceals any imperfection, but I don’t mind that. I think the formula is beautiful. It’s super creamy and blends out really easily. The wear of the concealer is nice, too. I had no creasing or settling happening throughout the day. It is a bit spendy at $45 a tube, especially for only .23oz. So is there anything else in luxury category that has high review ratings over the chanel concealer?
Let’s Review Chanel Concealer to Top Contenders
Comparing to Dior Forever Skin Concealer
For a few dollars less, Dior Forever Skin Correct gives you more product (.37oz) and performance for your buck. The formula takes the smallest amount to cover even the most stubborn imperfections. It’s hydrating. It leaves a beautiful natural finish that wears well throughout the day. It is resistant to creasing, fading, and settling. And, it has a ton more shades to choose from (30). The only negatives to Dior Forever Skin Correct, is that it can feel heavy if too much product is applied and the colors can oxidize on the skin.
At the end of the day Dior Concealer gives you better performance at 40% discount if you will (considering the price and amount you get)
Comparing to Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer
The Hourglass Vanish Concealer is one of my favorites for high coverage, creamy pigment. It provides an instant full coverage that brightens the under eyes, blurs imperfections, and diffuses lines and pores. And, it wears beautifully all day long. With this concealer, you don’t have to worry about creasing, settling, or fading and get at least 8 hours of nearly perfect wear. It’s truly a magical formula.
I would say it performs slightly better than Dior and it is slightly cleaner. But it does come at a higher cost. It is the most expensive out of the three (considering price and amount of product).
So let’s review Chanel concealer comparisons. We have two other great concealers that are performance beasts. Both of these are full coverage, but they are lightweight, which kinda contends with the easy application of medium coverage concealer like Chanel. As part of the Chanel concealer review, I made a performance chart comparing all three products.

Milabu Beauty Method: Chanel Le Correcteur is best suited for those no-makeup makeup days.
- Choose a lightweight base. I love Fenty Eaze Drop Skin Tint ($32) for my lighter makeup days.
- Swipe a bit of concealer on any imperfections and under your eyes. For best results under the eyes, apply towards the inner corner and a line at your outer corner pointed up towards your brow bone.
- Blend out using a brush. Liquid Touch Concealer Brush from Rare Beauty ($16) is one of my favorites.
- Lock it in place with a lightweight powder. Hourglass Veil Translucent ($46) is one of my holy grails.
