The Lawless setting powder is perfectly described in its formal name, “Skin-Smoothing Talc-Free Perfecting Powder.” It has an ultra fine formula to smooth and polish the skin with a soft-focus, soft matte finish. This isn’t your average setting powder, as it provides buildable medium coverage while it sets makeup in place all day long. The setting powder absorbs excess oil while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and pores with ingredients like phytosqualane, bismuth oxychloride, perlite powder, and kaolin clay.

It blurs, sets makeup, and adds coverage. What can’t the Lawless setting powder do?! But, seriously – this talc free setting powder is beautiful. It’s lightweight and effortlessly smooths over any makeup underneath. It does a decent job at keeping oiliness at bay, but I do find I have to touch-up around the 5-6 hour mark depending on if I’m doing that contributes to excess oils. My pores vanish, my fine lines are smoothed, and my skin looks airbrushed, all of which I just love. The one thing I will say is that it isn’t the most mattifying powder out there. If your skin does lean more oily, you may find you need to touch up with this powder throughout the day with a blotting sheet. Or, layer a setting spray on top for even more longevity!

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder is another raved about setter. Like the others, it has a lightweight, ultra-fine formula that smooths, blurs, and sets. It has a bit more mattifying capabilities than Kosas Cloud Set, but is one that requires some touch-ups after about 6 hours of wear, especially on more humid days. Despite the Charlotte setting powder not being a cleaner formula or talc free, it’s one I keep in my collection because of its high performance, commitment to no creasing, and sleek compact design.
