Lancome Teint Idole Stick is still one of the best cream foundations.
Back in the day, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation Stick was my go-to face base. I love how easy it is to swipe on, build coverage where needed, and toss in my bag for on-the-go touch-ups! Typically, I don’t love cream foundations, whether in stick or compact form. Between the nostalgia factor and performance of Lancome Teint Idole Stick Foundation, it’s remained a favorite of mine for years.
Promises vs. Performance: We love a breathable, skin like cream foundation.
Yes, that’s right – Lancome’s beloved Teint Idole Foundation also comes in stick form. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick promises up to 24 hours of full coverage wear and all-day shine control. The formula is said to be transfer-resistant with a natural matte finish. Being a foundation stick, you get a lot of versatility. It can be used to conceal, contour, cover, highlight, and blend for a lightweight, skin like feel. As a bonus, Lancome included a kabuki brush on the other end to make on-the-go touch-ups a breeze.
There’s several reasons why I enjoy this cream foundation stick. For starters, it’s incredibly easy to apply and blend. Simply draw a few stripes on your cheeks and forehead, then take a brush or damp beauty sponge to blend in. I recommend working in light layers as it can look heavy if you layer too much product. Teint Idole gives me a solid medium to full coverage and leaves skin with a beautiful soft matte, skin like finish. It feels virtually undetectable on the skin and just looks like a second skin.
Its wear has minimal settling into pores and it doesn’t contribute to excess oil. Though, if your skin does lean more towards the oily side, you may benefit from a mid-day blot or powder! The one thing I will say about this foundation is that it’s not super long wearing. I can usually get a solid 6 hours of decent wear, and paired with a gripping primer gives the best results. Although Lancome claims transfer-resistance, I find that it can transfer a bit.
Quick Rating Rundown
:Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick
How It Compares: This classic Lancome foundation is a good one.
In my opinion, there are very few cream foundations that perform as well as the Lancome Teint Idole Stick does. This cream foundation stick gives the most beautiful skin like finish, is lightweight, and wears without need for much touch-ups. It’s versatile, able to be used not only as a foundation, but also both concealer and cream contour/bronzer, too. The texture is silky smooth, applying and blending easily with any tool for a seamless, second skin like look. It wears with minimal settling and creasing, or excess oiliness. It’s an oldie, but a goodie. See it in action ▶️
If you’ve tried the Lancome Teint Idole Stick Foundation and it isn’t for you (and you’re open to another cream foundation), I suggest Patrick Ta Major Skin Foundation (rated **** 4.2). It deserves all the hype and may just be my new favorite cream foundation. However it is only medium coverage foundation, unlike Lancome, which is full coverage.
Foundations aren’t a one-size-fits-all, for both skin types and occasions. I keep several face bases on rotation on a weekly basis and am always testing out the latest and greatest (can we talk about the Haus Labs foundation launch? Ah-mazing!).
