Kosas brow pencil fills in sparse brows with hair like strokes.
Kosas is a beautiful, sustainable brand with clean ingredients. They have some stunning products, and I hoped their Brow Pop brow pencil wouldn’t be any different. There’s a few things I look for in a brow pencil: pigment, the ability to create natural hairlike strokes, and longevity. Will Kosas Brow Pop beat out my beloved Benefit Precisely, My Brow?
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: This brow pencil has incredible pigment.
Kosas Brow Pop sounds like it will do it all. The dual-action eyebrow pencil creates precise, hairlike strokes with long wearing color. It features a micro triangle shaped pencil that can be used to both create hair like strokes and fill in spares areas. It contains castor oil, to help brows grow, and panthenol provittamin B5, which works to revive brows. Brow Pop is cleanly formulated, cruelty free, and free of unwanted chemicals such as PEGS, parabens, PPG, and more.
The pigment of this eyebrow pencil is incredible! Using even the light pressure, I am able to easily draw hair like strokes to fill in my brows. It doesn’t take much product at all. The pencil is super tiny and precise, which is great for getting in those small areas where you need the least amount of pigment. And, I’m pretty impressed with the wear of Brow Pop. It stays on all day without smudging or fading. Brow Pop also plays well with brow gels and waxes for the ultimate defined, feathered brows.
How It Compares: The next best eyebrow pencil?
Kosas Brow Pop is a good one! It is highly pigmented, easy to use, and wears beautifully. It even has skincare benefits that help revive brows (thanks castor oil and panthenol provitamin B5!). But, the cult favorite Benefit Precisely, My Brow still wins. Between its icon status and performance, it’s a tried and true favorite that is always reliable – and a little more long wearing.
If you’re on the market for a new brow pencil or want something with a clean formula, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out. Personally, I keep this brow pencil on rotation.
Comparison To Other Brow Pencils
Milabu Beauty Method: How to fill in sparse brows.
This pencil is great for filling in those sparse areas of your brows. Here’s my best practices.
- First use the spoolie to fluff your eyebrows. Brush them upwards to create a feathered effect.
- Starting at the front of your brow, begin drawing hair like strokes with a flicking, upward motion. With this brow pencil, use the thin side of the triangle tip to create the hair like strokes.
- Work your way towards the tail of your brow, continuing to use the same upward, flicking motion.
- To fill in more spares areas of your brows, use the thicker side of the triangle tip to lay down more pigment.
- As needed, brush through the brows with the spoolie to disperse the product.
- I recommend layering a brow gel on top to set the brows and hold them in place all day. My favorite is Benefit 24-HR Brow Setter, $24.
