Jane Iredale Mascara – Quick Review
Let’s review Jane Iredale mascara. The brush reminds me of a pipe cleaner and the formula doesn’t have the best longevity.

Jane Iredale Thickening & Lengthening Mascara is not my favorite.
Jane Iredalae’s thing is being in the clean beauty world for over 25 years way before the clean beauty fad ever took off. The brand promises to always be cruelty free, noncomedogenic, safe for sensitive skin, and free of both synthetic fragrances and preservatives. Knowing that and the claims of this specific mascara, I’m intrigued. Longest Lash promises to give a volumized, lengthening wear while nourishing lashes. But, I’m here to tell you there’s more claims than what this mascara actually does. Let’s get into Jane Iredale Mascara Review.

Promises vs. Performance: Is this a fiber mascara?
Jane Iredale is pretty simple when it comes to what this mascara promises to do. This specific Jane Irerdale mascara claims to be a do-it-all formula in terms of volume and length. It claims to make lashes look longer and thicker. Featuring a squeeze tube packaging, the jumbo hollow fiber wand promises to deposit pigment evenly with the cellulose fiber formula. It does promise being a healthier formula for lashes, reducing splitting and breaking.
My Review Thoughts on Jane Iredale Mascara
If I’m being transparent in this review, the brush of Jane Iredale mascara reminds me of a pipe cleaner. It’s a bigger wand that’s super thick and super fluffy. When looking at the tube, it doesn’t look like this big of a wand would fit in the tube. But, it was a thick wand full of fibers. While applying, I had so many fibers floating into my eyes. The thick brush was hard to maneuver through my lashes. I felt like it did nothing for my lashes in despite it’s volumizing and lengthening claims.
While Jane Iredale doesn’t claim this mascara to be a fiber formula, I digress: after just one swipe, I had fibers floating in my eyes, making it painful to keep applying. The formula did nothing for my lashes. It did not help volumize or lengthen, and I had to apply multiple coats to get the black pigment I can usually get in just one swipe. I wouldn’t say this mascara is super long wearing. While it didn’t smudge and transfer, it did flake. It looked as if I had tiny little fibers under my eyes.
Jane Iredale Mascara Application
Let’s Review How It Compares: Jane Iredale Mascara vs Lash Idole
If I’m going to pay over $30 for a mascara, not only must it have a good formula, but it must also perform well. Unfortunately, this Jane Iredale mascara disappointed me in both areas. This one specifically features a super thick wand that resembles a pipe cleaner. It’s hard to control and has no flexibility to match the lashes. While the formula didn’t smudge and transfer, the fibers did flake. I had tiny little black spots under my eyes where the fibers fell off my lashes.
I’m going to be honest… Lancome Lash Idole is nearly $10 cheaper ($27 at Sephora) and performs way better than this Jane Iredale mascara. With Lash Idole, I get a formula that volumizes, lengthens, and separates my lashes san smudging, flaking, and transfer. This mascara outperforms most and is my holy grail that never lets me down.
