ILIA Color Haze Pigment: The perfect multi use makeup product.
Cream blush is a great way to achieve a natural, dewy glow no matter the time of year. It’s good for those with drier skin who want a product that sinks in and doesn’t look powdery, and it’s good for no-makeup makeup looks. One that has gained some traction in the clean beauty world is ILIA Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment. This product has won several awards, including Elle International’s Best Green Makeup, NewBeauty’s Best Clean Blush, and PureWow’s Best Lipstick. Winning awards in both categories, is this the best two-in-one lip and cheek duo? Let’s review ILIA Color Haze Pigments.
Quick Rating Rundown

Promises vs. Performance: Dewy lips or matte cheeks?
Color Haze is a creamy, multi use pigment that is said to deliver a subtle wash of color or bold statement on both lips and cheeks, according to ILIA. It is said to be an easy to use formula that effortlessly blends into skin. It is completely customizable in terms of payoff and layers well. In addition, this product contains skincare benefits that help moisturize and smooth skin, including jojoba oil and coconut oil. It dries down to a soft, dewy wash of color on the cheeks and matte on the lips.
My Review Thoughts: ILIA Color Haze Pigment
Wow, this is creamy and pigmented! It blends out effortlessly on the cheeks and gives a dewy finish. I like to apply the product by picking it up off the back of my hand with a dense brush. It’s buildable and can go up in intensity depending on how much is applied. ILIA Color Haze applies on the cheeks evenly and smoothly. It definitely has way more color payoff than the ILIA Multi-Stick blush! Even with the Soft Focus Finishing Powder on top, the dewy glow from this blush shined through. It wears well throughout the day, with no noticeable fading or settling.
While I haven’t tried it on my lips, Maddie, one of our Milabu editors, has: “As a lip cream, it’s matte, has lasting power, and is super comfortable to wear. It’s also fairly transfer resistant, which is a win in my book!”
Let’s Review How ILIA Color Haze Compares: A good 2-in-1, but Cloud Paint takes the cake.
If we’re comparing ILIA Liquid Blush to ILIA’s other cream blush, the Multi-Stick, this product has way more pigment and a more intense color payoff. It’s more versatile in terms of achieving a subtle or bold look. Color Haze is easy to apply with a brush and goes on the cheeks evenly. However, is it the best liquid cream blush?
ROSE INC Blush Divine is easily one of the best formulas I have ever tried and is one of my holy grails. The creamy formula easily blends into cheeks with fingers or a brush, providing a the most healthy, radiant flush of color. It never accentuates any imperfections, from dryness to texture and never settles into lines or pores. Blush Divine applies beautifully over any base, whether cream or powder, without disrupting the makeup underneath. Milabu Beauty Method: How will you wear it?
You’ll want to have your base makeup done, minus any powders, before applying this product.
- I recommend working off the back of your hand. Start by dispersing a tiny amount (not even pea sized) to the back of your hand.
- Taking a brush on the fluffier side (I like this one, $62, from Hourglass), begin picking up product by swirling the brush and coating the bristles evenly.
- Using circular motions, apply the blush towards the outer edges of our cheeks to create a lifted look. Remember, less is more! You can always layer and add more.
- Finish your makeup look, setting the blush with a powder to lock it in place.
Tip: if at any point your blush becomes too bold for your liking, use setting powder to tone it down! This helps blur it out and make it less intense.
Don’t forget! ILIA Liquid Blush product works on the lips too! Milabu editor Maddie suggests applying it directly to the lips like you would any other lip product. Layer with or without a lip liner (totally personal preference!). She uses her finger to blend it out and make sure the product is even. As with blush, less is more and it can be layered if a deeper color is desired.
