If you’re looking for a clean cream concealer, Hynt Beauty’s Duet Perfecting would be a solid option. It provides full coverage while still looking skin-like and never creasing. A winner in my book!

Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer reminds me of NARS Soft Matte.
Who doesn’t love playing with makeup they’ve never tried before? Hynt Beauty is a new to me brand that I quite enjoyed with my introduction: Duet Perfecting Concealer. This cream concealer reminded me a lot of NARS Soft Matte (one of my faves!), for its creamy, ultra pigmented formula. As I do, I put this concealer to the test to see how it performs in terms of application, longevity, and how it pairs with other products. I have to say, I’m quite impressed with this natural beauty brand so far!
Promises vs. Performance: I love what this concealer promises.
Hynt Beauty is a natural beauty brand free of gluten, synthetic fragrance, silicone, FD&C dyes, among others (vegan and cruelty free, too!). Their Duet Perfecting Concealer is a multiple award winner and best seller. Providing full coverage, this color correcting cream concealer promises hydrating, all day wear (when set with a powder) that doesn’t get cakey. Hynt promises a comfortable wear that covers under eye circles, hyperpigmentation, and redness. It contains botanical extracts, as well as avocado oil and cupuaçu butter for both comfort and a lightweight feel. It can be used as a spot treatment, cream foundation, an eyeshadow primer, and even contouring. The formula is safe for all skin types, including sensitive.
The way this concealer blended in reminded me a lot of NARS Soft Matte. The texture was similar, definitely more creamy than balmy (not so slippy and shiny but still soft) like Soft Matte is. To apply, I warm up a bit of product on the back of my hand to get a really creamy consistency. The formula blends in easily and results in both a natural finish and coverage. It hides my dark circles, but still looks very skin-like on.
Duet Perfecting Concealer wears beautifully and looks super skin-like. It doesn’t crease or settle extra into any lines, even with a powder paired on top. Perhaps it is a clean dupe for the NARS Soft Matte!

How It Compares: Could this be a clean dupe for NARS Soft Matte?
Duet Perfecting Concealer might just be the closest clean beauty dupe I have found for NARS Soft Matte. The formula is super creamy and blendable, giving high coverage, yet still looking like skin on. It wears well with little to no creasing or settling for an all day wear. I do recommend setting with a powder, as that does increase the wear and really lock the product in place. It brightens the under eye area, but also works well to cover imperfections. I do think the shade range could be better, as there are only 11 shades to choose from. If you’re on the hunt for a solid cream concealer (with clean ingredients), I’d give this one a go!
I will say, very few things beat my beloved NARS Soft Matte (rated ****4.5). In my opinion, this is the cream concealer industry standard. It provides a buildable full coverage that is hydrating and lasts all day. Creaseproof and resistant to settling, this concealer looks gorgeous from application to removal. It does have a larger shade range, coming in at 30 shades! It’s the perfect concealer for travel (no worrying about that pesky liquids bag!), and easy, quick concealing of dark circles, imperfections, and more.
Milabu Beauty Method: For best application, apply a cream concealer with the fingers and set with a powder.
- Using your finger, pick up product from the container. Pick up a decent amount, as we won’t be applying directly to our face next.
- Before applying to your face, warm up the product on the back of your hand by rubbing in using circular motions. We’ll be working off the back of the hand as a palette.
- Your ring finger applies the least amount of pressure. Use this finger to pick up some product and apply it to your under eye area. Use patting motions instead of rubbing to work the concealer into your skin.
- Pick up more concealer, and dab on any imperfections you wish to cover.
- Set with a finishing powder. For pressed, Kosas Cloud Set ($34) is one of my favorites. If you prefer loose powder, check out ILIA Soft Focus ($34).
