This Hourglass concealer is worth every penny.
Hourglass makes some bomb products and are truly some of my favorites. Their Veil setting products, both the powder and spray, are great at extending makeup wear time, while keeping your look natural. And, the Ambient Lighting Bushes are some of my favorites. Another holy grail from Hourglass is the Veil Airbrush Concealer. Pricy, but worth every penny. It’s one product I’ll always recommend picking up during any Sephora sale and one I will never go without in my collection. Let me try to count all the ways I love this concealer.
Promises vs. Performance: Let’s put this 16 hours of crease resistant wear claim to the test.
Full coverage, weightless, and waterproof are just three of the main claims Vanish Airbrush Concealer has. It contains innovative microspherical powders that blur and brightening, aiding in up to 16 hours of wear. The creamy formula claims a crease resistant, light reflecting wear that diffuses the look of fine lines and pores. Hourglass promises a highly pigmented formula that evens skin tone, concealing dark circles, blemishes, and other imperfections leaving you a smooth, natural finish that looks airbrushed. And, it features a unique, custom applicator that is “perfectly flocked” to prevent any tugging on the delicate under eye area.
Vanish Airbrush Concealer applies like a dream with a brush, damp sponge, or fingers. It effortlessly blends out, leaving you with the natural, airbrushed finish Hourglass promised. The formula is definitely high coverage and super pigmented, with a little bit going a long way. Instantly, my under eyes look brightened and diffused, while any other imperfections become blurred.
Hourglass does promise up to 16 hours of crease resistant wear. And, Vanish Airbrush Concealer delivers. I always have a long lasting wear that was crease resistant, and didn’t settle into my fine lines or pores for at least 8 hours.

How It Compares: It’s a tough competition between this Hourglass concealer and Dior’s.
I’ve got to give Hourglass props, because when they call this concealer Vanish Airbrush, they aren’t playing around. This is one of my holy grail concealers for many reasons. Even though it is pricey, a little bit of product goes a long way, which makes a tube last forever. It provides an instant full coverage that brightens the under eyes, blurs imperfections, and diffuses lines and pores. And, it wears beautifully all day long. With this concealer, you don’t have to worry about creasing, settling, or fading and get at least 8 hours of nearly perfect wear. It’s truly a magical formula.
But, there is another luxury concealer that I also enjoy.
Dior Forever Skin Correct (rated ****4.5) is another extremely pigmented concealer, possibly even more pigmented than Hourglass Vanish, which is why I deem it the standard concealer in luxury. It covers any dark circle, blemish, redness, or other imperfection flawlessly. I will say, you do have to be a bit careful with how much product you apply because the formula can look heavy fast. Another con for the Dior concealer is that the shades do oxidize and appear darker. If oxidizing is something you struggle with, I’d check out Hourglass’s concealer over Dior’s. But, in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with either of these formulas.
Milabu Beauty Method: Vanish dark circles and blemishes.
- Apply your favorite base. For light coverage days, I love Fenty’s Eaze Drop Skin Tint ($32). If I’m going for full glam, I pull out my Armani Luminous Silk ($65).
- Using the doe foot applicator, apply a few dots of concealer under your eyes. Dab a bit of concealer over any blemishes, redness, or other imperfections you wish to cover.
- I enjoy applying this concealer two ways: either with a Beautyblender ($20) or a brush. If you’re looking for a good concealer brush, Rare Beauty’s ($16) is one of my favorites.
- Though Hourglass Vanish Airbrush has a long lasting wear, I still enjoy setting it to give it that extra longevity. And, Hourglass makes one of my favorites: Veil Translucent Setting Powder ($46).
