Our Rating Criteria

Luxurious and stunning on the skin, Gucci Blush is a favorite.

Gucci’s newest launch is Gucci Blush De Beauté, AKA their Luminous Blush. Now, I’m not going to deny that this blush is pricey. It’s $49 a compact, which is 0.19 oz of product. The Gucci blush is housed in a stunning gold and baby pink compact adorn with stars. Now, I know what you’re probably thinking – $49 for a pressed powder blush?! That’s insane! Yes, I thought so, too. However, Gucci blush is actually worth it’s price tag. It’s a phenomenal formula that pairs well with any skin type, any base makeup, plus has the longevity to withstand the elements. Let’s review this Gucci Blush.

Promises vs. Performance: Is the Gucci Blush worth its $49 price tag?

Gucci’s first powder blush is finally here: Gucci Blush De Beauté. This formula is a pressed powder, with a smooth and silky texture that is easily to apply over any base. The buildable pigment offers a matte finish, with a luminous lit-from-within glow. Gucci blush is formulated with emollient waxes and pigments and shea butter, which help make skin feel moisturized, plus hyaluronic acid to add hydration and black rose oil for soothing. The ultra-thin powder is mistake-proof that apples smoothly over any bases.

My Review Thoughts: Gucci Blush

I’m exited to review this Gucci Blush. Naturally, Gucci would create stunning packaging that just looks and feels luxurious. But, the formulation of Gucci Blush De Beauté is also stunning and luxurious. The pressed powder has a soft, silky, velvety feel which allows it to apply easily over any base. It’s very pigmented and a little goes a long way, but it is buildable in intensity. Because of its soft, silky feel, it doesn’t accentuate skin texture, nor does it settle into lines or pores. It’s long wearing and doesn’t fade, so you’ll be blushing all day long. I love the finish of this blush and how while it is a matte finish, it still gives a beautiful lit-from-within glow.

Gucci Blush has an overall rating of 4.4. If price + value wasn’t factored in, this product has a performance rating of 4.8.

Let’s Review How It Compares: Is Gucci Blush De Beauté the best blush?

Let’s get it out of the way in this review: the only complaints I have about this Gucci blush is it’s pricey and contains fragrance. The scent is subtle, but for some fragrance can be a skin irritant. Other than that, Gucci Blush De Beauté can do no wrong. The powder has a soft, velvety feel that blends effortlessly over any base. This also means it doesn’t accentuate texture or settle into any lines and pores. It’s luminous matte finish gives a stunning lit-from-within glow. I have several shades in this blush and honestly love them all. They pair well with any makeup look, from everyday to full glam.

Another luxury favorite, and my industry standard pick, is Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush. This one is a little different as it has a true luminous finish that gives more glow than your average natural finish blush. It’s not overly shimmer-filled, and it is still a lit-from-within, ambient lighting, glow. The texture is silky smooth, effortlessly applying for a blurred look. It wears beautifully without fading or settling. But, at the end of the day Gucci Blush sets a new standard for powder blush, and I’m confident to say in this review.

Gucci Blush Dupe

Not every makeup product has a great dupe. Thankfully there is a good dupe for Gucci Luminous Matte Blush De Beauté, which is one of the best splurge makeup blushes. We are talking about Almay Healthy Hue Blush being the Gucci Blush Dupe. They both have similar formula, texture, and the way they look on the cheeks. Both are glowy underneath but matte on top (that glow from within look). Colors are not the exact match. Here are the differences between the two blushes:

Almay Blush:

  • Cheaper
  • Glow from within finish
  • You could see the particles
  • 6 hr wear
  • Cleaner formula

Gucci Blush:

  • Pricey
  • Glow from within finish
  • Very Fine Particles
  • All day wear
  • Works with any makeup
  • Performance is stellar
