Overview
Light Illusion Concealer from Flower Beauty brightens, but isn’t the best at concealing under eyes. It provides a light to medium coverage that diffuses and blurs imperfections.

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore is an affordable makeup line at Walmart.
Let’s be honest: there are so many good drugstore concealers out there. From Maybelline Instant Age Rewind to NYX Bare With Me and even Ulta Beauty’s concealer, there are some that I love more than even pro grade or high end concealers. I recently gave Flower Beauty’s Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer a whirl. After all, who doesn’t love Drew Barrymore? I’ve got to say: this concealer isn’t the worst I’ve tried, but it also isn’t my favorite. I’m going to break it down for you.
Promises vs. Performance: Flower Beauty says this is the secret to faking 8 hours of beauty rest.
According to Flower Beauty, they have “the secret so that you can fake your 8 hours in a flash.” That secret is Light Illusion Concealer, a full coverage, weightless concealer. Light Illusion contains exclusive blurring pigments that diffuse dark circles for a flawless, luminous look. It diminishes the appearance of imperfections, from fine lines to signs of fatigue. The creamy texture claims to blend seamlessly into skin. And, it’s only $10.
I will say, this concealer made my under eye area so much more brightened! I looked awake and luminous. But, I could still see my dark circles peeking through. I would say the coverage is more on the light to medium side than the full coverage side Flower Beauty promised. While it blended in easily, it wasn’t as stretchy of a formula as I prefer. It pretty much stayed in place once you put it down, which worried me about creasing and settling throughout the day. I will say, it does have the diffusing, blurring effect as claimed.
At the end of a full day of wear, I still felt that my under eyes looked bright, which I loved. What I didn’t enjoy was that, because the formula wasn’t as fluid or stretchy as I prefer, it did settle and crease a bit. I do think this could be minimized some by prepping with a hydrating eye base. Overall, this concealer isn’t bad. But how does it stack up to the industry standard, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind?
Quick Rating Rundown
How It Compares: There’s a concealer I think is better.
I do love how much Light Illusion Concealer from Flower Beauty brightened my under eyes. It gave me a very luminous, awakened look. But, the coverage isn’t as full as they claim. I would say this concealer is closer to a light-medium coverage than it is a full coverage. My dark circles were still peeking through some. It did keep my under eyes looking bright and awake all day long, but, because of the formula, it did crease a bit.
A better option (for the same price and more shade options!), would be Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. This classic is iconic for a reason, as it flawless brightens and conceals dark circles. It doesn’t settle or crease, and wears beautifully all day long. One thing I will say about this concealer is that the applicator and packaging can be messy, so be careful when twisting up the product!
Milabu Beauty Method: Brighten and conceal under eyes with this method.
Have a matte concealer in your collection that you just can’t make work? Don’t worry! You aren’t limited to just one concealer. How’s how to brighten and conceal under eyes.
- First, apply your foundation.
- Taking your matte concealer, apply a small amount to the back of your hand.
- Now, apply the same amount of Light Illusion from Flower Beauty next to it.
- Using your finger, mix the two formulas together.
- Gently dab the product under your eyes using your ring finger.
- Take a brush or dampened sponge and blend out the concealer under your eyes. This should give you a radiant, covered under eye area.
- Set with a lightweight powder. L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Pressed Powder ($11.99) is a great one.
