Is elf Lash N Roll Mascara a Benefit Roller Lash Dupe?
A long time industry mascara favorite is Benefit Roller Lash, made famous by its curved brush for its lifting and curling capabilities. Until recently, there wasn’t really a true dupe for this iconic mascara. But, elf Lash N Roll Mascara has entered the scene with a similar wand and the same lifting and curling promises. They’re even similar down to the packaging – black with pink accents, and a pink brush!
Promises vs. Performance: No flaking, no smudging – just all day curl.
elf Lash N Roll Mascara promises mega-curling that keeps lashes “up up up.” It features a double-sided, curved silicone brush with short and long bristles to separate, lift, and curl lashes. The smaller bristles hold the formula, while longer bristles separate and lift to evenly coat each lash. e.l.f. promises a smudge and flake resistant formula, for all day lifted lashes.
The curved wand of elf Lash N Roll makes it easy to apply and comb through the lashes. It’s shorter bristles makes it easy to get close to the roots of lashes, plus reach pesky shorter and inner corner lashes. The formula doesn’t give immediate intense black pigment, but it can be layered and built up easily without getting clumpy. It gives a stunning fluttery lash look with separated, lifted lashes. e.l.f. promises an all day curl with no flaking or smudging, and I’d say it holds pretty true to that. I experience very minimal smudging and a small amount of flaking, but neither deter me away from this formula. Truthfully, it’s a new favorite of mine.
Quick Rating Rundown
How It Compares: elf Lash N Roll Mascara is a top performer.
From application to lash effect to wear, I’m pretty impressed by elf Lash N Roll Mascara. For $6, this elf mascara is a top performer across the board. It features an easy application that separates while reaching even shorter lashes. It doesn’t add a ton of volume, but it gives lashes a fluttery, wispy effect. The formula doesn’t weigh down lashes, keeping them lifted and curled all day long. It can smudge and flake, but this is minimal and can easily be wiped away. If you’re looking for a cheap mascara that performs, elf Lash N Roll is worth a try.
Realistically, there’s so many good drugstore mascara formulas out there. But, my all-time favorite is Maybelline Lash Sensational. With this formula, I get everything: volume, length, definition, curl – you name it. The formula keeps my lashes lifted and fluffed all day long with a long wear free of smudging, transfer, and flaking. To me, this is the perfect drugstore mascara, actually fit for a princess.
And if you’re looking for a clean formula, there’s a solid one at the drugstore: Covergirl Lash Blast Clean Volume. This mint blue tube packs a punch with application and performance. Definition, length, and longevity? I’ll take it.
