While the elf Liquid Highlighter Wand is the best of the Halo Glow Wands, it still isn’t perfect. Its sheer formula is easy to apply, but it doesn’t have a great wear.

elf Liquid Highlighter Wand is the best of the Halo Glow Beauty Wands.
Glowy skin is in for spring and summer. And, there’s several ways to achieve that coveted glow. One of these is with the use of a highlighter, adding a bit of sparkle to the high points of your face, like the tops of cheeks, down the nose, and the cupid’s bow. Now, I don’t ask for disco ball sparkle (though, there’s a time and place for that!). I just want my cheeks illuminated and to catch in the light. elf Liquid Highlighter Wand has entered the makeup scene, acting as a near dupe for the coveted Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter Wand. But, will it live up to the expectations?

Promises vs. Performance: An easy application with not-so-much payoff.
elf Liquid Highlighter Wand comes in 3 shades (Champagne Campaign, Rose Quartz, and Liquid Gold) that deliver a lit-from-within glow. It features a wand staple cushion sponge tip applicator that allows for precise application on the high points of your face. The liquid formula is buildable and blendable, plus infused with hydrating squalane for even more illumination.
Skip using the cushion sponge tip applicator of elf Liquid Highlighter and, instead, use your fingers to dab a bit of product anywhere you want extra radiance. The formula applies easily with the fingertips, but looks patchy and is less pigmented when applied with a brush. And, with elf Liquid Highlighter Wand, less pigment isn’t a good thing since the formula is ultra-sheer. It does need to be set for the best longevity, because it is prone to fading, moving around, and transferring.
How It Compares: elf Liquid Highlighter Wand is not the best for sparkling cheeks.
e.l.f. Cosmetics really missed the mark when it comes to their Halo Glow Beauty Wands. Both the contour and blush wands are disappointing, and the highlighter wand is good, but could have been better. It’s fairly foolproof to apply, but it doesn’t have the most intense pigment or sparkle that I desire from a highlighter. When it comes to highlighter, I’m much more inclined to reach for a pressed powder for the extra pizazz.
Is It A Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter Wand Dupe?
The beauty world was hoping for a good Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter Wand dupe, but e.l.f. did not deliver. Truthfully, there’s really not a dupe for the highlighter wand. But, what I can offer you is other top performing highlighters. While these aren’t all liquid formulas, they are the best in the drugstore category.
