Dyson does it again with their Corrale hair straightener.
Can Dyson do any wrong? In our opinion, no. We love the Dyson tools for their technology, performance, results, and safety for hair. One of the newest to the Dyson hair tool lineup is the Corrale hair straightener. This one is special because it has flexing plates technology that guide the hair as you straighten. This feature should not be underestimated, but the opposite is true. Not only does this flat iron create sleek, smooth hair, but it also creates beachy waves and polished curls. Oh, and did we mention its cordless?! I’m exited to review this Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener.
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: What makes Dyson Corrale so special?
Dyson Corrale is the only flat iron that has flexing plates that shape to gather hair, keeping it together as you straighten. This, in our opinion, is the magic of this tool, it leaves the hair ends sleek and frizz free making the overall look even more smooth and shiny. The plates are manganese copper alloy plates, which help prevent extreme heat damage. Intelligent Heat Control responds to the thickness, texture, and length of hair while regulating temperature 100x per second to prevent heat damage. Dyson promises 50% less breaakage, less frizz, and fewer flyaways.
Another unique feature is the cord-free design. Corrale provides up to 30 minutes of cordless styling, and fully recharges in just 70 minutes. The hair tool features an OLED screen that displays battery level, temperature setting, and charging status. In addition, Corrale has an auto-shutoff after 10 minutes of inactivity, plus a safety lock for more convenient storage. One other neat feature is the “flight-ready feature.” Corrale boasts universal voltage (10.8V-16.8V) and a removable battery pack for easy international travel.
My Review Thoughts: Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener
Out of all the flat irons I have tried (trust me, I’ve tried a lot!), Dyson Corrale gives the most consistent results and performs the best time and time again. I love that I can create sleek, straight hair or beachy waves and curls with the same tool – and how easy all are to create! The cord-free design makes it even easier to use. Some users do complain about the battery lifetime and the battery capacity decreasing over time, with my hair length I haven’t experienced any issues. I can style my whole head of hair in a single charge. However, I could see thicker, more coarse hair types needing more than the 30 minute charge.
Secret behind performance
What makes the Dyson Corrale so great, aside from the cordless design, are the flexing manganese and copper alloy plates. These plates flex and shape to gather hair, keeping it together from root to tip as you straighten. The results are frizz free, smooth, and shiny hair like no other. There is no hair iron on the market that can do this at this time. The metal of the plates conduct energy much better, making Corrale a better option for minimizing heat damage. But, the one thing I will say about the plates is that they can snag your hair if you’re not careful. The little “teeth” are great for guiding hair, keeping it together, but hair can get caught in them and near the battery pack as well.
Personally, I love my Dyson hair tools because I know they’re safer for my hair. With how much I style my hair, I like having something that styles my hair well with lasting results without putting my hair through extreme heat damage. The technology that Dyson uses is always innovative and different from the rest. One specific thing I love about the Corrale is the universal voltage and removable battery pack, something the other Dyson hair tools (and other hair tools in general) often don’t have.
Let’s Review How It Compares: It’s pricey, but the Dyson Corrale is a phenomenal hair straightener.
Dyson continues to create hair tools that are innovative, safe for hair, and deliver great results. And, the Corrale is no exception. What sets this hair straightener apart from the rest are its flexible alloy manganese and copper plates. The flexible plates move with the hair to shape and keep hair together as you style. With this feature plus Intelligent Heat Control automatically regulating temperatures, Corrale results in 50% less breakage, less frizz, and fewer flyaways for healthier hair. The cord-free styler has a 30-minute battery life and fully charges in just 70 minutes. Its also travel-friendly with its safety lock and universal voltage + removable battery pack. And, as much as I love longed power cords, they take up a lot of space. Where Dyson Corrale can improve, though, is the plate design. Even though the flexible plates an amazing feature, the little “teeth” can snag and pull hair if you’re not careful.
Bio Ionic 10x Flat Iron
The only other hair straightener I reach for is my Bio Ionic 10X (rated ****4.4), which is half the price of the Corrale! Bio Ionic also has some great plate technology, with its vibrating plates that make it a true one-pass styler. The plates are alloy, featuring Ceramic Mineral Complex Natural Volcanic Rock, which promises to be less damaging. The rounded plate design helps when straightening and creating waves/curls, aiding in crease-free styling. Albeit still a bit pricey, Bio Ionic is a great option at just $239.00.
