Mix them together for custom shades, blend in with other complexion products, or wear alone as an eyeshadow, blush, or lip color – the possibilities with Colorfix are endless. So, let’s review Danessa Myricks Colorfix Pigments.
Promises vs. Performance: Proving long wear and versatility, Colorfix can do it all.
Danessa Myricks Colorfix Pigments are formulated for “remarkable longevity and endurance.” These cream pigments are smudge proof, waterproof, and withstand high temperatures. With a rapid dry formula, the pigments have to be blended quickly for best results. This versatile cream makeup product is safe to use on lips, eyes, and cheeks for any look you’re going for, from monochromatic to a focus feature. Colorfix comes in a variety of shades and finishes, with over 30 shades spanning Metallics, Matte, Nudes, Foils, Glazes, and Neons. It also promises to play well with wax, silicone, and oil-based formulas.
My Review Thoughts: Danessa Myricks Colorfix Pigments
I’m gonna start this review with the following words, there’s not much Danessa Myricks Colorfix Pigments can’t do. I’ve used a white shade to create an ombré lip look, a matte pink for blush, and a shimmering bronze foil glitter on my eyelids. This cream pigment can be used in a myriad of ways: on their own, below makeup, mixed with other makeup products, as a waterproof base, and above makeup as a topper for eyes/lips/cheeks. I wil say, you do have to work quickly with Colorfix because it dries down fast. Despite the fast drying, they are easy to work with. The formula is creamy and blends easily on any part of the face. A little bit also goes a long way with this product. In order to get a buildable application, you have to start with the tiniest (and I mean like a ball point pen tip size!) amount of product.
Not only is Colorfix one of the most versatile products, it is also incredibly long wearing. The fast drying formula locks in place quickly, becoming waterproof, smudge proof, and resistant to high temperatures. In simpler terms, these pigments aren’t going anywhere off your face, despite getting caught in a rain shower, battling humidity, or rubbing your eyes.
Quick Rating Rundown
Danessa Myricks:Colorfix Cream Pigment
Let’s Review How It Compares: Danessa Myricks Colorfix Pigments are the ultimate cream makeup pigment with its many uses.
Over 30 shades and multiple finishes to choose from, not only is there a shade for literally every use imaginable, but it can also be used for any look imaginable. Colorfix is safe for use on eyes, lips, and face, providing high performance and longevity. The shade range and many uses, from eyeshadow to a waterproof base to a glitter topper makes Colorfix the most versatile cream makeup product in prograde beauty. Oh, and let’s not forget its incredible long wear: these pigments are waterproof, smudge proof, and heat resistant. Talk about life proof!
But, Colorfix is not for the faint of heart, AKA cream makeup beginners. Because they are fast drying, they can be tricky to work with and quickly become hard to work with. They are also insanely pigmented and can look intimidated. The smallest amount is required even for maximum payoff. Even still, these are a great addition to any makeup collection. I find the glitter foil shades are the easiest for newbies to Colorfix, as they are easiest to use as an eyeshadow!
New to cream makeup? Try these.
Cream/liquid eyeshadow: about-face Matte Fluid Eye Paint is newer, but it is one of the best. They provide instant bold color, are easy to blend, and stay all day. Another beginner-friendly option is Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. This cream eyeshadow stick is virtually foolproof and can be worn in a variety of ways. Check out our MILABU PICKS article for even more one and done eyeshadow options.
Cream Blush: Glossier Cloud Paint is a user-friendly classic cream blush that comes in a squeezy tube. The gel-cream hybrid is buildable, forgiving in color, and very easy to use. Cloud Paint may be the most iconic, but my favorite cream blush is ROSE INC Blush Divine. The cream compact is a bit easier to use, even creamier, and even easier to work with. Bonus points, it makes a stunning lip color, too!
Lipstick: A bit less intimidating, but still high performing, is Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. The rich pigment gives lips full coverage while still feeling lightweight and comfortable while wearing. It has a precise doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply with or without a lip liner. If liquid lipstick is still a bit too much for you, the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are also stunning. They’re not as long lasting, but the chubby pencil is incredibly easy to use and they feel great on the lips.
