Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless Foundation Review:
Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless underperforms compared to its claims. While it applies easily and wears evenly, the coverage and youthful factor are not up to par.

Covergirl claims their Olay Simply Ageless Foundation is the #1 anti-aging foundation.
According to Covergirl, this is the #1 anti-aging foundation. And, Byrdie agrees. But what makes it so great? It is said to provide some great benefits, including making skin look more youthful and sun protection. Other than that, there’s not many claims about Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless. I’m intrigued, for sure, and am excited to see if I join the praises of thinking this is a top foundation. Let’s jump into the Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless Foundation Review.
Promises vs. Performance: Hydrated, healthier skin with less exposed wrinkles and fine lines.
My favorite claim about Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless is that it “glides over fine lines and wrinkles.” They’re saying it is supposed to float above and never settle. The formula contains a hyaluronic complex and vitamin C to promote healthier and more hydrated skin. It also offers sun protection with an SPF of 28. Covergirl makes no claims in terms of longevity or finish, but does say it should offer up to a full coverage.
Review Thoughts: Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless Foundation
Covergirl has no claims on what kind of finish this foundation is supposed to have, but because it is a cream foundation with hydrating claims, I’m assuming it will be a natural finish. While it applied and blended in pretty easily, it did not feel what I would expect it to feel like on the skin. Instead of feeling creamy, it felt powdery and chalky. I tried two application methods, the included sponge and a brush, but neither was better than the other. I did not get the full coverage Covergirl promised. Instead, I got a light to medium coverage, with the redness of my cheeks still peeking through. Instead of a natural finish I assumed I’d get, I got a matte finish which surprised me.
The wear wasn’t bad with this foundation. I tested it on the perfect hot, humid day and, much to my surprise, I wasn’t a greasy oily mess by the end of the day. I did have some oiliness on my forehead, but that would have happened with any foundation (I typically have to powder or blot my forehead, especially in the summer months). The coverage wore pretty evenly, but it is not transfer resistant. It will come off from touching the face. I did have some settling into fine lines and texture exaggerated, especially in the drier areas of my face. But, overall, this foundation isn’t bad, but it isn’t my favorite drugstore cream foundation.
Let’s Review How It Compares: Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless Foundation Isn’t My Favorite.

While there aren’t too many stand out cons to this foundation, there also aren’t any wow factors. It did blend in easily to the skin with both the included sponge and a brush, but the feeling on my skin was not creamy as I expected. Instead, it felt powdery and chalky. It was also hard to build up coverage with this foundation. Neither application method allowed me to build up past a light-medium coverage. I was also surprised by the finish I achieved. I was expecting something more along the lines of a natural finish, but Simply Ageless gave me a matte finish.
The wear wasn’t anything spectacular. It did start to settle in my fine lines and exaggerate texture, especially in my drier areas. But, I will say, the coverage did wear evenly where it did not rub off (it definitely isn’t transfer resistant), and it controlled my oiliness fairly well.
As far as cream foundations at the drugstore, I would recommend Milani Conceal + Perfect over this one from Covergirl. For just $10.99 (Covergirl Simply Ageless retails for $15.99), you get a fuller coverage and a longer lasting wear that doesn’t settle as quickly. The finish of Conceal + Perfect is much more natural than matte, which I also enjoy.
Milabu Beauty Method: Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless is a bit dry. Here’s how to make it work.
- Prep skin with a hydrating primer. Hard Candy makes a solid dupe ($7) for the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer ($36).
- I think you get the best coverage from this foundation by using a brush. e.l.f. makes some of my favorite brushes, and their Buffing Foundation Brush ($6) is a great option. Dip the brush directly into the foundation and to pick up product.
- Begin tapping the product into your skin. Rather than using buffing motions, tapping helps disperse pigment directly without moving it around.
- Layer coverage as needed to build.
- To extend wear time, set with a lightweight powder. I recommend Coty Airpsun Loose Powder ($6). It’s lightweight, but sets makeup really well.
