Meet Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer.
The same bouncy, cream to powder formula we all know and love finally comes in a bronzer formula. Meet Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer, an extension of the cult fave Super Shock lineup. I’m a bronzer fiend. I love warming up my complexion for a sun kissed glow, and strive for that just-got-back-from-the-beach bronze. There’s many cream bronzers I love in my collection, but this one has made its way to the top of the pyramid. So, let’s dive into Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer Review.
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: Is it ‘the ultimate beachy summer glow’ as claimed?
Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer has the same bouncy texture that the brand is known for. It promises a creamy, buildable formula that provides natural warmth and dimension. The 6 shades come are a range of neutral, golden, and rich undertones to ensure no orangey-ness. It’s soft matte, cream to powder finish is perfect for achieving a bronze, sun kissed glow.
My Review Thoughts: Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer
My first review thought, the texture, finish, and tone of Colourpop Super Shock bronzer is an immediate 10/10 from me. Its formula is buildable without getting patchy or lifting makeup below, and it leaves behind a stunning soft matte, airbrushed finish. I’d recommend applying with a brush for best results, but a damp sponge would also work to apply more sheer. What I’m most impressed with about the Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer is its longevity. It easily wears for over 8 hours without fading or settling.
Let’s Review How It Compares: Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer is my new favorite at the drugstore.
Move over elf Putty Bronzer. I still love you, but there’s a new kid in town who is even better. Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer is easier to apply, more buildable, and longer wearing. The soft matte finish has a super skin like appearance on, and never looks muddy, orange, or cakey. At $9, this is a winning drugstore cream bronzer.
Comparison to Top Performers
Best Drugstore Cream Bronzer
If we’re talking reputation, elf Putty Bronzer takes the win as the best drugstore cream bronzer. It’s blendable, buildable, has a solid shade range, and natural finish. But, it lacks in the longevity I desire in a cream bronzer. In my opinion, the best drugstore cream bronzer is the new Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer. It, too, is blendable and buildable with a solid shade range. Where it differs is its finish and longevity. I like the soft matte finish better, as it looks airbrushed on the skin. As far as longevity goes, it wears a solid 8+ hours without budging, which is longer than elf Putty Bronzer!
Best Value Cream Bronzer
When it comes to the best value cream bronzer, it actually isn’t a drugstore find. Saie Beauty Sun Melt comes in a 1.0 oz pot for just $32, giving it a value rating of 4.8 stars (for reference, elf Putty Bronzer has a 4.4 value rating, and Colourpop Super Shock Bronzer has a 4.5 rating). Saie Beauty Sun Melt is one of the most user friendly bronzers, and might be my favorite cream bronzer of all time – at least for now! It’s texture is blendable and buildable for a natural bronze or ultra sun kissed skin.
