Promises vs. Performance: Let’s give these liquid blush wands a whirl.
Inspired by the award-winning cult favorite beauty light wands, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Blush Wand has joined the fam. To apply, unlock the cushiony applicator and dot the blush on your cheeks. The more dots you add, the more bold color! They promise a smoothing, soft-focus effect on the cheeks thanks to something called Lumi-Blur Technology while poreless polymers create an airbrushed finish. Plus, they boast long lasting claims with a self-setting wear. Matte Blush Wands come in 4 iconic Pillow Talk shades for universally flattering cheeks.
Review Thoughts: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Blush Wand
Beautiful, airbrushed, easy to use – what more can you ask for?! Charlotte Tilbury rarely misses the mark when it comes to high-performing makeup products, and her new Matte Blush Wands are no different. The pigment is buildable: the more dots you use, the more intense your cheek pop. They are extremely blendable without lifting any makeup below, however you do have to work fast! This formula dries quickly for a self-setting, long lasting wear, and can look patchy if you wait too long to blend. These liquid blush wands give cheeks a stunning soft matte, airbrushed finish. They easily wear for 8+ hours without setting powder on top.
Let’s Review How It Compares: Is Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush Wand better than the Industry Standard?
If we are going to compare the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush Wand to other products, we first must compare it to the standard product in the pro-grade price category. In my opinion, it’s Saie Beauty Dew Blush. Not only is this product an industry standard, but it is also a top performing liquid blush. It has a natural finish that mimics products underneath or can be made matte by topping with some setting powder. However, where Dew Blush suffers is its application. It’s a pretty liquidy formula that can lift makeup underneath resulting in looking patchy. But, overall, the finish and longevity make it a top liquid blush.
Dare I say we have a new best performer in the blush category? Charlotte Tilbury takes another win with her Matte Beauty Blush Wands. Despite it having a quick-dry formula, it doesn’t lift makeup underneath when applied. It has a soft matte, airbrushed finish that can easily be glowed up with the addition of her Pinkgasm Beauty Light Wand or Flawless Filter. And, bonus points, because this is an incredibly long lasting blush with no fading, looking patchy, or settling.
Comparison to Top Performers
We have to compare this to another best selling, iconic liquid blush that has stayed viral on social media for the longest time. What blush is this? The always sold out Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. To be honest, I don’t have many complaints about this liquid blush: its pigmented, long lasting, and comes in an array of beautiful colors. However, the high impact pigment can also be seen as a con. It takes the smallest, and I mean the smallest amount of product to fully color the cheeks. Because of this, I don’t consider it to be the most user friendly liquid blush. Like the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Blush Wand, it also dries fast and can be hard to blend if you wait too long.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush Wand Dupe
Now, this might be a newer product, but a dupe already comes to mind: Milani Cheek Kiss Liquid Blush. This is the industry standard in the drugstore category because of its unmatched performance. Its application is easy, and it has a beautiful natural finish. But, where Milani Cheek Kiss suffers is longevity. It isn’t the longest wearing on its own like the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Blush Wands, but a little setting powder will help it last.
Another ‘dupe’ product that comes to mind would be Sheglam Color Bloom Matte Liquid Blush. This is a beautiful blush that applies easy and looks great on the cheeks. Plus, it comes in both shimmer and matte versions.
