Get Beautiful Skin with this Charlotte Tilbury foundation.
A glowy complexion is something I know I strive for. I like my skin to look healthy, dewy not oily, and my imperfections to be blurred. Even with as many foundations as I’ve tried, I’m always on the hunt for the latest and greatest. Brands are jumping on the “clean girl makeup” trend, launching face bases that are perfect for that glowy, no-makeup makeup look. Charlotte Tilbury, queen of the glow, home of the viral Flawless Filter, recently came out with Beautiful SkinFoundation, which promises hydated, plumper, smoother, and brighter skin.
Promises vs. Performance: Everyone can achieve Beautiful Skin.
Charlotte Tilbury claims Beautiful Skin Foundation gives 16 hours of hydrating, radiant wear. The buildable medium coverage foundation is formulated with skincare ingredients that work to improve skin overtime. Hyaluronic acid boosts moisture while coconut extract improves skin’s ability to retain water. Bix’Active™ decrease oiliness and appearance of pores, Rose Complex targets all signs of stress (from dullness to pigmentation to dark circles), and Hyalurosmooth™ works to help uneven texture, dryness, and dllness. In simpler words, Beautiful Skin gives everyone skin that “looks beautifully hydrated, plumper, smoother, and brighter.” And who doesn’t want that?!
The texture of Beautiful Skin is fluid and stretchy. It is buildable, and just one pump allows you to achieve a solid medium coverage that conceals redness, hides blemishes, and evens skintone. The formula blends easily with a brush or fingers, though I don’t recommend a sponge as it will soak up too much of this liquidy formula. Beautiful Skin doesn’t look heavy, cakey, or crepey on, but it is one of those foundations you can feel and see on the skin. I wouldn’t consider it lightweight (like a skin tint), but it’s also not heavy like Esteé Lauder Double Wear.
Honestly, I was shocked by the longevity of Beautiful Skin the first time I wore it. Personally, I don’t like to add a setting powder on top of it to keep it from looking heavy. It doesn’t fully set on its own, but as it wears it kind of transforms into a powdery finish. I’m impressed that it doesn’t have much transfer or excess oiliness without setting, especially considering its a hydrating foundation! I will say, it can settle into fine lines and crease (a setting powder and primer will help), but it doesn’t cling to or accentuate dryness and texture which I appreciate.
Quick Rating Rundown
How It Compares: Is this Charlotte Tilbury foundation the best for dry skin?
Hydrated, glowy, dewy, radiant skin… Whatever you call it, this Charlotte Tilbury foundation delivers. Beautiful Skin applies easily, providing solid medium coverage that conceals redness, blurs blemishes, and evens the complexion in just one pump. The fluid texture doesn’t cling to or accentuate texture or dryness. This is a formula I can count on for those days when I’m experiencing dry patches. Now, it isn’t settle and crease proof: it does settle into fine lines and can look crepey if the skin isn’t prepped properly. I recommend wearing a smoothing primer underneath for best results.
If we’re talking full coverage that lasts all day with no transfer, very minimal settling/creasing, and is virtually life proof, look to Esteé Lauder Double Wear (rated *****4.6). This coveted foundation is iconic for a reason. Its application is easy, giving way to flawless full coverage that does.not.budge. But, it does come at a higher price tag. A bottle and pump will set you back $60, which puts you in luxury foundation territory. This brings us to our luxury recommendation, Armani Luminous Silk (rated ****4.4), which is an industry standard! It looks virtually undetectable on skin, photographs beautifully, and wears all day with little to no transfer, settling, or fading.
