Overview
I find that BareMinerals Broad Spectrum Concealer is better used as a setting powder. Add on top of your favorite liquid concealer for brightened under eyes that are set for all day wear. Just make sure you prep with an eye cream before!

Use Bare Minerals Powder Concealer as a brightening setting powder for under eyess.
I have actually never used a powder concealer before, so this was a first for me. Bare Minerals Powder Concealer in Well Rested has so many raves reviews among the brand website, Sephora, and Ulta, with an average star rating of 4.3. I have got to say, I’m super intrigued as this powder promises to brighten under eyes, diminish puffiness, and protect with an SPF of 20. Although, I can’t say I had the highest of hopes for this product, I was pleasantly surprised. Here’s how I think this powder concealer is best used.
Quick Rating Rundown
Promises vs. Performance: BareMinerals Concealer promises to rid puffiness and dark circles while looking natural.
Well Rested from BareMinerals is marketed as an under eye brightener. The powder formula is free of talc, parabens, gluten, synthetic fragrances, and more, and promises to provide a natural, luminous finish. Well Rested gives an “instantly wide-awake look” to brighten the look for dark circle, while diminishing the appearance of puffiness and fatigue. BareMinerals claims no amount of coverage with this concealer.
BareMinerals suggests applying Well Rested by using their swirl, tap, buff method. So, this is how I applied it. I tapped a tiny bit of product into the lid and used my Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush to swirl the product around. First tapping off the excess, I buffed the product onto my under eyes area. I don’t think it necessarily provided coverage, but it definitely brightened my under eyes as promised! The wear of this powder concealer was a bit tight and heavy throughout the day. But, otherwise, it wore fairly well. I think this would work well paired with another concealer as a setting powder instead of on it’s own. And because it is a bit drying, I recommend prepping the under eye area really well with a nice eye cream. It can settle into fine lines a bit, but this didn’t surprise me being a powder formula.
How BareMinerals Broad Spectrum concealer Compares:
I don’t have much to compare this to as this was the first powder concealer I’ve ever used! I have to say, I am quite impressed with this product. It blended out really easily with the brush I used (Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush), and really brightened my under eye area. I thought it did a great job at blurring and making me look more awake. Though, I will fault it for it’s wear. Because this is a powder formula, it can look dry and settle into fine lines. I would suggest this product is better for those with less dry skin, or just make sure you prep your under eye with a rich eye cream.
Milabu Beauty Method: Here’s how I would use BareMinerals Broad Spectrum concealer.
BareMinerals suggests applying Well Rested by using their swirl, tap, buff method.
- Prep the under eye area with an eye cream. One of my favorites is Murad’s Vitamin C Dark Circle Correcting Eye Serum. Let this sink in for a few minutes before moving onto concealer.
- Start with a liquid concealer to add coverage to the under eye area. My holy grail is NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
- Start by tapping out a bit of powder into the lid of Well Rested. Taking a fluffier brush (I like the Deluxe Crease Brush from Real Techniques), swirl to warm up the pigments.
- Tap off the excess product before buffing into your skin using circular motions.
