Luminous Silk Concealer: Will it be as good as the foundation?
We all know how much I love my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It’s my holy grail, luxury foundation that I don’t think I could ever live without. The brand is home to several of my favorite products and seems to never let me down. Enter Luminous Silk Concealer, an award winning, multipurpose concealer that made Allure’s Best of Beauty list in 2020. Would Luminous Silk Concealer wow me like the foundation did? Let’s get into Armani Luminous Silk Concealer Review.
Promises vs. Performance: As the name suggests, it has a luminous, airbrushed finish.
This award winning concealer is multipurpose made to conceal, correct, and highlight. According to Giorgio Armani, Luminous Silk Concealer provides up to 24 hours of hydration with a buildable, medium coverage. It is said to be creaseless and nondrying. And, it’s made with the same technology as the iconic Luminous Silk Foundation (yes, please!). The formula contains glycerin, caffeine, and vitamin E to help reduce under eye puffiness, giving a brightening effect. In addition to concealing, it smooths the appearance of fine lines with soft focus pearls.
My Review Thoughts: Armani Luminous Silk Concealer
I love my Luminous Silk Foundation, so I was excited for this one. It has a lot of claims that I love the sound of. I used this concealer to conceal my dark circles and brighten my under eye area. Instantly, I achieved a brightened under eye area thanks to the luminous finish (and I’m sure the caffeine helped!). The concealer blended out nicely and was lightweight. It didn’t appear to crease or cake after a day of wear either, which is always a good thing.
How It Compares: Armani does it again, but is this the best high end concealer?
Now, we know this concealer made some bold claims. Concealing, correcting, and highlighting without creasing or looking dry? Well, it did good! Providing a radiant finish, this concealer is buildable up to a medium coverage. It wears well throughout the day and seems to live up to my beloved Luminous Silk Foundation. I’ll have to keep playing with this concealer to see if it makes iconic status in the luxury beauty category. For now, the best luxury concealer (in my opinion) is Dior Forever Skin Effect. Forever Skin Effect Concealer provides more coverage and has a more inclusive shade range (30 vs 23). Sephora reviewers also rate it just a bit higher, with 92% of purchasers recommending it (only 88% of purchasers recommend Luminous Silk). Both concealers do feature a lightweight feel on the skin and wear with little caking, creasing, and settling.
Milabu Beauty Method: This caffeine infused concealer helps you look less tired.
- I prefer this concealer under the eyes because it has quite a brightening effect. Using the doe foot applicator, swipe the concealer under the eyes. Apply towards the inner corner, and angled up towards the brow bone.
- I enjoy using a brush to blend out this concealer. One of my favorites is this one from Rare Beauty ($16).
- If needed, build up the coverage to your desired intensity.
- As with any creamy product, I recommend setting this down with a powder. Hourglass Translucent Setting Powder ($46) pairs great with this concealer.
