Overview

Armani Eyes To Kill is just your standard mascara. While it does wear well, there isn’t anything special about this formula.

Armani Eyes To Kill doesn’t match its luxury price tag.

The higher the price, the more critical I am of a product’s performance. The same goes for this specific mascara. Armani Eyes To Kill retails for $29 and promises to be an all-in-one mascara. It’s claims sound great, but I can’t say it lives up to them. This is just your standard mascara: no special brush, no special formula, and no special effects.

Promises vs. Performance: Is Eyes To Kill really an all-in-one mascara?

Armani Beauty promises Eyes To Kill will do it all: volumize, lengthen, and define. In just one coat, you should get all of these, plus intense pigment. The brush is unique, a patented design by Armani that is an oversized, asymmetrical brush that has different length bristles weaved throughout. In the formula, you’ll find a blend of hard and soft waxes that leave lashes “amplified, yet flexible.” Note that Armani does recommend removing excess product from the wand before applying to prevent clumping.

Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara isn’t anything to write home about. There’s nothing that really makes this formula stand out. It provides minimal volume, length, and separation. It does a little bit of all of those, but is not dramatic in any way. The wand is also umcomfy to use. It’s on the stiffer side and is very prickly. It reminds me of a pipe cleaner!

I will say, the wear is better than your average mascara. It is long wearing with minimal smudging, transfer, or flaking. However, I don’t think mascara is worth $33. If I’m going to spend that much on a mascara, I want it to give me that va-va-voom and give me something special.

How It Compares: Eyes To Kill is nothing special.

For $29, this mascara isn’t anything special. While it does provide a longer wear with minimal smudging, transfer, or flaking, there isn’t anything that sets this mascara apart from one at the drugstore. The brush isn’t the most comfortable and can easily poke your eye and waterline. It doesn’t provide any spectacular volume, length, or definition. It’s not that I don’t like this mascara, it’s just that I don’t think it’s worth the money.

There are far better mascaras out there that you can spend your money on. From Lancome Lash Idole to Chanel Le Volume, you can get better volume, length, and long wear elsewhere. Both Idole and Le Volume have brushes that help define lashes and separate. If you’re going to spend over $30 on a mascara, your money is better spent with Lancome or Chanel.
