100% Pure Mascara Review
I wouldn’t call Maracuja Mascara from 100% Pure my favorite, but it’s not bad. It delivers defined, separated lashes that look feathery and wispy.

If you want a mascara with only the purest ingredients, Maracuja Mascara is it.
100% Pure is committed to creating the healthiest products with pure ingredients while also educating consumers on why doing so is important. That’s why their Maracuja Mascara is colored (and scented!) with fruit pigments, as well as tea, cocoa, and coffee. I first tried this mascara when testing out a full face of “good smelling” makeup products. While some weren’t winners in performance or smell, this mascara from 100% Pure surprised me in both departments – let’s review it.
Quick Rating Rundown
:100% Pure Maracuja Mascara
Promises vs. Performance: 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara is clean, vegan, and gluten free.
Maracuja Mascara from 100% Pure promises luscious, volumized lashes without clumping. It claims an all day wear, water resistant wear with no clumping. The formula is infused with lash conditioning ingredients such as provitamin B5, maracuja oil, and seaweed to promote healthy hair growth and thicken lashes. The tapered oval tip will help easily coat lashes from root to tip. Maracuja Mascara also comes in three shades, Blackberry (deep, neutral purple), Dark Chocolate (deep, cocoa brown), and Black Tea (midnight black).
My Review Thoughts: 100% Pure Mascara
I’ve got to mention in the review more than once, 100% Pure mascara smells delicious! I have both the Black Tea and Blackberry shades, and each smells just as described thanks to being infused with those pigments. The Black Tea shade (midnight black) is more bold, while the Blackberry shade (deep, neutral purple) gives a more natural, feathery look. I like that this formula defines the lashes and separates for a wispy look. The formula is on the drier side, which I appreciate and think is easier to work with. Coupled with the small, precise wand, this mascara is easy to apply to both top and bottom lashes. It’s also lightweight and doesn’t weigh down my lashes.
However, I don’t benefit from any added volume or length as promised. It also doesn’t have a super long wear. It can smudge and transfer under the eyes, but I think this is dependent on the concealer and powder used under the eyes. You’ll definitely need to set the under eyes when wearing this mascara!
Let’s Review How 100% Pure Mascara Compares: For a natural mascara, it isn’t terrible.
100% Pure Maracuja Mascara definitely won’t give you dramatic, bold lashes, but it will give you a wispy, feathered look – I loved that part in the review. This mascara looks more natural on lashes than others, which I don’t mind from time to time. It applies easily without clumping. The wear isn’t terrible, but it isn’t the best. While it doesn’t flake, it can transfer and smudge under the eyes.
My favorite mascara in the professional grade category is Lancome Lash Idole. This mascara quickly became my holy grail after it’s launched because it is just so good. It has a curved brush that helps curl lashes, while separating and adding definition. I also get tons of volume and length for a false lash effect. And, when I need a mascara to last me all day free of smudges and flaking, this it.
However, if you’re looking for a more naturally formulated mascara, my favorite is ILIA Limitless Lash. It provides boundless length, separation, and definition and wears well throughout the day with minimal smudging and flaking.
